Louisiana is a net taker of government funds and without the federal government, New Orleans would still be largely in shambles.

fascinatingly a significant portion of the people signing these things live in states that receive far more from the federal government than they produce in revenue, which is interesting considering their position astride the moral horse of not taking government handouts

also if half those states left they'd be third word countries, but i guess the good news is they'd get to keep the straws of pet institutions like guns and racism that they've been grasping at since reconstruction

I'm pretty sure very few of the people who signed those petitions are down to fight to the death for their cause. But if a lot of them are, they should keep at it because there are plenty of trained men who stand by this country ready to provide them with the opportunity to die for their cause.
