I think you take a lot for granted, and thinking you know what really is going on in people's minds is quite arrogant.
You have just defined the young liberal quite succinctly

I'm all for our constitutional rights above all else, that being said, seceding from the country would put you in a much more dangerous and unfavorable position. Why do it? Even Texas' Gov. Rick Perry pretty much said it was stupid. Because it is.
Secondly, how can anyone take it seriously?
In the original secessions here, no one politely signed their name on a piece of paper and asked if the President would consider their secession, lol. It's actually sad that if those people feel that strongly about it yet, they're that pathetic to call it a "movement." Lazy and uninspired. And obviously, not well thought out, just an empty gesture by not very intelligent people.

Canada will trade Ontario and Quebec for Alaska and Washington State...hell, we'll even take Idaho and Montana off our hands too
Canada should be the 51st state =P

Well they certainly made a statement.Perhaps they just feel the need to make a statement, but not an outward protest or demonstration a la OWS.
Probably not the one they intended, though.

If you don't agree, congratulations, you are officially part of the radial fringe.
I know you don't care, but you looking rather foolish.
Time to step out of your radical, anti-democratic, anti-American, banana republic lovin' bubble.
Are you out of your bubble yet? Good, now take a big deep breath of reality:
Obama is a moderate republican, just like our great American hero, General Eisenhower or Gerald Ford.
I know FOX has been filling your heads with nonsense, but it is time to grow up and realize the world is not about to end.
Republicans just need to focus on jobs and the economy and dump all the social conservatives, loony tunes, sexists and racists and they will be just fine.
There are plenty of other people that don't like paying taxes just like you. Just stop insulting them because they come from somewhere else, practice a different religion or have breasts and you might find they would like to join the GOP.
Better luck next time.
