I don't know who's idea it was to go with the read option this year...Rivera , Chud....regardless both of these clowns are getting canned after this season maybe sooner...you can blame 100% on that as the reason for the shape the offense is in now....using some bogus junior high school offense....and now we run a majority of plays out of the shotgun with a poor offensive line...and we run 15-20 yd routes....and Cam running for his life...with 0 over the top speed on the outside

Honestly what do you guys expect or think is gonna happen to Cam this season with that kind of shitstorm? Oh ya and run the entire offense through him and not utilize our backfield...

Ya I'm a Cam defender. Why? Because he threw for 4000 yards as a rookie and rushed for 14 TDs in the same season. Give him a chance to thrive under a new front office and staff...

"Cam sucks...trade cam...not worth a number 1 pick"

Are you kidding me?? The guy is one man having to carry an offense that can't run the ball...can't block an OLB....and can't stretch the field..oh ya and has to pass to a guy like Armanti....

What did you think his chance of success was going to be?

Cam has no pocket presence this year. Last year he had a lot more. Has either lost confidence or playing like he is on drugs.
Our OL bad breakdowns, especially against about half our opponents are not helping him, but some QB's can buy time a heck of a lot better than Cam is doing this year. He is too intent on throwing the ball, finding an open receiver than even how close defenders are to him. He does not take opportunities to run sometimes when that would be the better option. He moves up into too many collapsing pockets.

The offense sucks period. Started with the scheme. It's just a snowball effect the rest of the way. Bad OLine. No running game. 1 aging WR. 1 pass catching TE....it's tough out there

This is going to be one long ass offseason. I really hope we get a #1 WR talent in this draft and some OL help for our offense. That and a good FS would go a long ways.

You can't give up on a 1st round QB this early unless it's obvious that he has been given all the tools necessary to succeed and he still can't get it done.

That's not Cam. Some QBs come out of college more pro ready but no rookie QB is pro ready. Cam has been thrown into a situation with a lack of talent around him. The O line is this year has ranged from serviceable to horrid. The FO has neglected the receiver position for a decade never giving Smith any help. Lafell shows flashes but he's not a legit number 2. Olsen is a good tight end receiving wise but like the rest of the line, he struggles blocking wise. The running game is suffering due to the o line play.

All that, the lack of weapons and consistent blocking, will kill any QB much less a second year guy. Add in the fact that Mike Shula, who may or may not be a good coach, is his QB coach. Shula's resume as QB coach includes a stint with Miami working with Jay Fielder and a stint at Jacksonville with the development of Garrard. Now those two QBs struggles aren't completely on Shula at all but it doesn't give me reason to think Shula is the genius you want to develop a young QB with raw talent and the physical traits of Cam. Then you look at Chud who is probably doing way more harm then good to Cam with his ridiculous game planning and college type scheme. And as you know Rivera is a defensive guy so I'm sure he's not helping him much either.

A lot of times, guys come in the league with a lot of potential that goes untapped because they don't have the right people around them to teach them how to play. Cam had no legitimate QB to learn from on the roster. Who's the backup Clausen? He needs someone to teach him too. He doesn't have any coaches tha have shown the ability to develop a QB properly, and he doesn't have that much talent around him in the right places. Add in the apparent philosophy of strapping the team on Cams back and you have a David Carr or Joey Harrington type disaster waiting to happen.

This season looks bad for you guys but in all honesty it might be a really good thing in the long run. Maybe the FO will right it's ship and hire a good GM. Then hire a coaching staff that can take control of this franchise and be accountable. Make it a team effort and instead of a gimmicky offense that is supposed to ride Cams coat tails to the Super Bowl, teach Cam how to play NFL football and give him the proper tools (a wide receiver that can consistently get separation other than Smith and an o line) to have a shot to succeed.

I should add I'm not a Cam fan, I don't know if he will be a good or great QB. Just saying that it's way to early to start talking about giving up on him given the situation of the team.

Cam has not been in a receptive mode to analize what is going on this season. He has the big head - thinks he is Superman. Been told and written about in the off season that he is the man of steel. He needs to get rid of the ball within a few seconds or run it or get to another area of the field in order to pass it. Not making any friends by doing his signature TD move, especially when we are far behind. Yes, we need a better O line or them to play better, and other parts, but a lot of our problems happen when he makes bad decisions. A lot more QB study and a lot less feeling sorry for himself would help greatly. He will be out of football within four more years if he doesn't learn instead of trying to rely on his God given abilities. They will only get him so far.

Cam is a stud player/talent. I am worried about how his teammates like him and perceive him, but if he hones that; he is going to be a star b/c talent always rises, the cream always rises to the top.

I agree with these statements. He needs to learn how to feel pressure and move around in the pocket. He's not horrible at it, but with an o-line like ours, this weakness is exasperated.

I think we need to call quicker, one read plays as well. Steve Smith, Lafell, Olsen can usually get off the ball pretty well and can get separation on shorter routes.

I really think Gettis could be a missing piece to this WR corp. But I guess he has to get in the game first. Also, Barnidge is no slouch as a receiving TE. I think if Olsen ever went down, we'd realize his potential. He's just not being targeted enough to display his talents.

Uh, no... should the Colts have given up on Manning after the first 25 starts of his career?

G play has been horrible....that makes it tough to have real pocket presense IMO. I'd rather Cam have poo Tackles than poo Guards.

Or 25th day of membership.

I see that you mentioned everything as a reason for the poor offensive performance.....except bad QB play.

And, Cam is one of the reasons for this offense's struggles. He is far from the only reason, but some of the blame rests squarely on his shoulders.

Cam should get that quote "tatted" on himself so it'll reminds him of these dumb@$$ Carolina Fans.

Front page article in the Observer on Cam setting a bad example for kids. ESPN declares him clinically insane.

Should NOT give up on Cam.
Although, investing in a sound backup plan, would be wise.
