I'm sure it costs us a whole lot. Plenty of things the government could do to improve things too, but nothing will get done I'm sure. Improving public health should without a doubt be a bipartisan effort, but politics is so polarized these days that Michelle Obama encouraging kids to eat vegetables gets ridiculed.

BTW when I talk about things the government could do to improve public health, I'm not talking about banning trans-fats or giant slurpees. I'm talking about the farm bill- the thing that makes no sense from either party's perspective yet never gets changed
