Lol Byers is beyond terrible.
Byers is actually 'okay'. He may turn out okay if developed correctly.
"Lee Ziemba" not is terrible. That kid was constantly being pushed back 10 yds every times when he was on the field last season.

We had to get under the cap, so Marty did what he had to do, and Wharton didnt want to restructure.
...so cut somebody else! (Looking at you, Armanti)

I dont know exactly but whatI do know is Stephen Hill and Derek Wolfe where still on the board and we could have had eitherm instead we got this Division II dud Amini
Yeah, I'm really pissed we missed out on Hill and his stellar 14 receptions for 196 yards.

You do realize that all these guys make different amounts of money, right? We would have had to cut 8 guys like Armanti to equal the Wharton salary.

Does anyone know why we drafted this guy so early as a second round pick? I may be wrong but I remember Hurney and Rivera saying that they "discovered" him which leads you to believe that they could have maybe got him in a later round or possible free agent.
A little research is your friend.

Wharton cost about 7m against the cap....Armanti cost about as much as a ham sandwich.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think Armanti should be kept. But to use him as a cut vs Wharton for cap purposes is way off base.

You mean we could have spent another 2nd round pick on a WR we dont put in the game?
That would be, good?

Overall Football Traits
Production 2 "2007-08: Starting offensive lineman at San Joaquin Delta Community College. 2009: Signed with Nevada but did not qualify academically. 2010: (9/9) -- Midwestern State 2011: (10/10) -- Midwestern State " Height-Weight-Speed 3 Average blend of height and weight for an offensive guard prospects. Appears noticeably faster than timed speed in film. Durability 4 Missed three games with a knee injury senior year of high school. Missed three games with a knee injury in 2010. Pulled hamstring in January and missed the Senior Bowl. Intangibles 4 Was 2011 team captain based on votes from teammates. Missed the 2009 season when did not qualify academically. Spent last two seasons at Division II school and first two seasons at a community college so the jump in level of competition is a concern. Mental capacity and maturity level need to be extensively studied.

Offensive Guard Specific Traits
Pass Protection 2 May not be long enough (33-inch arms) to stay at offensive tackle where he played in college. Footwork is inconsistent but an above-average athlete with good initial quickness and balance. Ability to redirect is a notch below elite. Ability to sink hips and absorb power rushers is above average. Upper body strength appears above average on film and flashes the ability to knock defenders off balance with punch. Run Blocking 1 Doesn't have to play with sound technique to dominate Division II level and has developed some bad habits. Inconsistent first step and overextends at times. But he has the physical tools and mean streak to become a very good run blocker at guard in the NFL. He's quick and agile for his size. Drives legs and generates adequate push when stays low. Adequate angles to second level blocks. Above average body control and flashes the ability to adjust to moving targets. Smooth pivot and above average range when asked to pull. Awareness 4 "Late picking up some blitzes in pass protection and as a run blocker struggles to adjust on the fly when defensive front shifts at the snap of the ball. However, keeps head on a swivel and looks to help out when no one comes to him in pass protection. Plays under control and picks up line stunts. Above average job of locating and getting to second level assignments when asked to pull. " Toughness 1 Flashes mean streak and the ability to finish one-on-one. Lowers shoulder and delivers blow when asked to kick out defensive ends. Flashes the ability to flat back linebackers. Blocks through the whistle on most plays and doesn't back down but doesn't play every snap with the same level of tenacity. Average upper body strength (benched 225 28 times at the combine) in the weight room.

Just a couple weeks ago, according to the huddle, hardy was a bust and CJ was just average. Kuechly was a botched pick after the first couple weeks and TD would never be able to play a full game. You catching my drift??? Give guys time...

In my opinion Wharton should have been kept
Not at $7-8Mil a season. If would have renegotiated his contract that’s one thing but not at what he was being paid.

I've seen him completely lost at times, and I've seen him completely man handle grown men at times. Experience will be his best friend right now. Once he's comfortable, and not thinking too much, he'll be a pro bowler - assuming that Cam improves as well.
One more offseason of training camp and OTAs, and we should have a better idea of what we have.

I know, Im just pissed at this franchise approach to personnel! Piss-poor drafts and garbage-can FA acquisitions have pushed me over the edge...
