ZackAttack23's 2013 Panthers Mock Draft 2.0

Round 1: Luke Joeckel OT Texas A&M 6-6 310 Lbs.

It's obvious we need O-line help. Jordan Gross is still very good, but he is losing a step and at some point needs to be replaced. By selecting Luke with this pick we will be just about set at OL.

Round 2: Matt Elam S Florida 5-10 206 Lbs.

We really need an aggressive safety out on the field. Nakamura ain't cutting it.

Round 4: Sheldon Richardson DT Missouri 6-3 290 Lbs.

We need a young DT to learn behind Dwan and Ron other than Sione and Nate.

Round 5: Terry Hawthorne CB Illinois 6-0 190 Lbs.

Gamble might or might not come back, Munnerlyn is a nickleback. So to draft Hawthorne is a great value.

Round 6: C.J. Fiedorowicz TE Iowa 6-6 265 Lbs.

Nice option to have opposite Olsen. He's only a Junior, but hopefully he comes out.

Round 7: Cobi Hamilton WR Arkansas 6-3 209 Lbs.

WR with nice size and great value in the 7th.

Love Joeckel.

Elam is a strong safety.

And I don't really recognize the other names, but it's still early.

Love Joeckel and Elam. Really think WR is a much bigger need than a seventh round pick though....

Elam can play any safety position and Godfrey would move over to FS. Also there's always gonna be guys people don't know in the later rounds.

WR is a position of need that needs to be addressed correct, but we also have other needs. At the spots we're drafting, the BPA's out way the needs. Hamilton is good though. Anyway it's early so mock drafts will continue to change based on performances.

I really want J Byrd to play for us at FS.

Don't really like any safeties so far besides TJ mac.

McDonald is severely overrated as a FS in the NFL, and this is coming from a huge USC fan....

Really? Whys that? I'm sure a couple guys will emerge in time for the combine. Tony Jefferson is another interesting prospect.

Round 4: Sheldon Richardson DT Missouri 6-3 290 Lbs.

I'm seeing Richardson being ranked as high as top 10 right now. Seem's to be a player on the rise that will end up going in the first.

    • It has to do with how these systems are broken and really defeats the supposed purpose for they are designed
    • I've done it. Of course it was 8 am and I had been drinking since about 8pm and I was drunk as fug but ya know. I had a 1/2 gallon of OJ for my leisurely outing with a little bit of 151 added to it. Needless to say, I was thrown off the course by 8:10.
    • These big lumbering WR that can't break tackles require too many targets to be productive.  The guys like Samuel and McCaffrey will provide a bigger punch and will be more efficient because they can make guys miss and take it home.  Take away all the targets and KB is just a possession receiver not a #1WR. He is unable to consistently break tackles like a smaller #89 or his own QB who is great at breaking tackles. To me Funchess is the better of the two. It is indeed time for these guys to prove it. They are too big to not get YACs.
