Good thing he only was a head coach for 11 years, not 14. He had 6 seasons of 9-7 or better and 5 seasons of 8-8 or worse.

guess i should have stopped counting at 2008...

6 winning seasons
2 .500 seasons
3 losing seasons

bottom line, his record is better than anything carolina has had in it's existence.

I'll throw out a name that I would at least look at. He certainly isn't at the top of the list but he would get a look. He would also have to prove that he learned from his previous stint as a HC and knows where to go.

Scott Linehan, Detroit Lions OC

He helped develop both Daunte Culpepper (when he was good) and Matthew Stafford. Plus his Lions offenses have been pretty good the last few years.

Well, you were the one who said Kuechly wasn't a good pick.

We'll see when it happens.

Compared to our needs at the time it was a fuging horrible pick.

I was wrong on how good he would be and I have admitted that.

What is the budget constraints on this hire?
Remember we're talking Richardson.
You're already assuming he's going to eat 2.8 million dollars per year to Rivera.

What the fug is with you people and fuging Bill Cowher?

It's the chin power....

But seriously it's just name recognition. There are a lot of people that just want a celebrity HC and he fits that mold.

I just wish people realized celebrity=/=the best choice.

He was a disaster in st louis. Don't want a sequel of Rivera.

he would be another mike ditka in new orleans. people see him yelling on the sidelines and scowling and think he's some kind of blue chip ass-kicker.

let's forget that he had the greatest defensive coordinator of all time on his staff.

That's what I'm saying. There's no reason to go insulting every body when obviously no one knows how it would work out.

Btw, who do you want for head coach?

Yeah, he'll suck.

Dick LeBeau definitely didn't have a great head coaching career in Cincinnati.

But, let's be honest, who has?

His first year in St Louis he was 8-8 before falling to 3-13 the next year. The following year he was fired 4 games in. He had 1 .500 season and 1 sub-.500 season. It's hard to say what that 2008 team would have done if he wouldn't have been fired.

Bill Belichick was fired in Cleveland. He learned from his time, improved upon his head coaching approach and became one of the greatest HC ever.

Like I said, he certainly would not be at the top of the list, but I might would still give him a look.
