Sean Payton
Mike Mccarty
Putting a guy who was won three different super bowls who was a retread does not prove your point at all. Excluding Belichick a retread has won the super bowl 3 out of the last 7. Recent majority says new coach. 2009-2011 has been new coaches, and the dominant teams in the nfl do not have retread coaches.
Bears
49ers
Falcons
Packers
Texans
Ravens
Steelers
Dominant teams with retreads:
Broncos (Pssst, Peyton Manning)
Patriots (Pssst, Tom Brady)

Tomlin and McCarthy won with organizations the Panthers could only one day hope to be even close to as they have the best Front Offices in the League.
Clearly an Aints Super Bowl win was an abberation.
As to the other "dominant" NFL teams:
Get back to me when they win a Lombardi.
The other 8 years, expereince prevails.
The Carolina Panthers need s strong willed, experienced NFL Head Coach.

I think you have some sort of weird fetish for Bill Cowher, it is kind of weird.

1990 - Bill Walsh, not a retread
1991 - Parcells, not a retread
1992 - Gibbs, not a retread
1993 - Jimmy Johnson, not a retread
1994 - Same
1995 - Seifert, not a retread
1996 - Switzer, not a retread
1997 - Holmgren, not a retread
1998 - Shanny, not a retread
1999 - Same
So much for this topic doe! If anything, it shows we need to get someone from college ranks. Walsh coached at Stanford. Switzer was successful in college as as Jimmy Johnson.
Also, you are still missing my point or blatantly ignoring it.
NAME ME ONE RETREAD OUT THERE WHO WAS GOOD IN THEIR FIRST RUN FOR ONE AND TWO, WHO WANTS TO COACH ANYWAY?
And please don't name Gruden because he was not any good outside of the 2002 run. As a matter of fact, did they even win a playoff game outside of that year? They may have but I certainly don't remember it. They were largely just a mediocre team.
And Cowher/Dungy do not want to coach anymore.

Sorry Eddie Debartelo and Jerry Jones.
Elway and Shanny, nice job, they deserved it after Elway's 14th year in the League. (lots of experience)
Dont really want to wait that long however.
And Oh, Mike Shanahan coached the Raiders before moving to the Broncos! (retread)

15 out of the last 23 super bowl champs have not had retread coaches.
3 coaches out of the last 23 super bowls have been retreads and have won.
Did you not even read my original post?
Since 2000, 8 Super Bowls have been won by retreads. I posted the results.
But you claim only 3 of the last 23 have?
Ok.
