I grew up in the Church, take my son to Church and enjoy the people that I've met in Church... but the Bible stuff is lost on me. Good stories that teach good values, but that's about it for me.

:cheers2: The church I went to was great...the minister just told stories from the bible about what Jesus did when confronted with greed, or lust, or other sins. Something you could apply to your own life. Then they make you sing those damn songs. Up, down, up, down, up, down. On and on and on. And the songs all suck.

It was great but you stopped going? Why deprive yourself of such joy and satisfaction, Meat?

You went only to get laid? I'm sure god is proud of you! :nono: :D :Angel_anim: :reddevil:

church is what you make it. some do a great job of connecting within and outside while other places its a social network to reinforce narrow views or factions be it political, gender, race or socio economic.

My church, they NEVER EVER get into politics, as it should be, but simply try to point people back to Jesus and applying the bible to your every day life.

Who knows, one day they may send me to Asheville or Wilmington to start a small one up.

Believe me, it won't be the atypical place.

I would have zod in charge of marketing and art camps.

dimbee would be building superintendent

kurb activity director

scrum the science guy

panthro maybe for sheer awesomness

gtg- potluck director

meat- jokes on back of bulletin

husker- teen director since he is ahead of the curve on what is hip/fail

hepcat/imicus and a couple of others would be the band

epi- local resident doctor

rodeo- theatre troupe( i can help on that too)

and I would rotate lessons with a couple of good talkers

If it's Wilmington, a sweet surf ministry. Church wouldn't be an hour long during the warm months and its surf up baby. Food/picnic on the beach

Every week we pull our talented resources together and whatever the city/community needs knocked out we go knock it out.

    • You don't see white people glorifying thug life and blaming the police when they get caught. I had a juvi tell me straight up that he believed he was a man now cause he shot somebody. Tell me what's the problem with that. Clearly it's the police? Right??
    • And I've been in jails were there were literally no black people in them, violent or otherwise. Crime in general is a problem in poor communities and the black community is disproportionately poor, its not because black people or the culture is inherently violent. Regardless this is a separate issue and had nothing to do with police violence, unless you feel that violence against the poor is justified regardless of cause because poor people commit violent crimes and shouldn't be afforded equal protectiom
    • Coming from the guy pushing Seth Rich conspiracies because he saw it on a message board
