Dont know if its been posted. Feel free to take this post down if it has.

RR said Richardson didn't offer him any guarantees, but said "I know that nothing is going to happen until after the season."

I'll be all right," Rivera said. "No matter what happens, I'll be OK. Whether I'm here next year or not, I will be A-OK. I will go forward. I will make things happen. I will do things. Whether it's here or somewhere else, I will. I believe in who I am and firmly believe in my abilities as a coach."

Rivera's right though. He will find a new gig really quick as a DC. He's one hell of a DC.

How much more blunt about it could he possibly be?

I'm just assuming but by reading what I read Ron Rivera already knows that he is done.

Yeah, he'll be something like Wade Phillips, which isn't that bad IMO.

with no good option to turn to this year and the team going from a clean slate next year, it makes sense to just stay this course without added turmoil that a new interim coach would bring.

people won't like it because we want change and we want it yesterday...but it just makes too much sense given the big picture to keep rivera until the end of the season and then make the move for a new HC, AFTER we've hired a new GM.

I secretly wish he would stay here as the DC and build in the promising defense.

Won't happen, but would be great if it did.

Has that ever happened in the NFL? Because I secretly share your secret desires...

Dallas ends up with Payton as HC and Rivera as DC and win the next 10 Super Bowls
