Our pick this year is top 12 protected....Chicago gets it unless we draft in the top 12,
and right now, we're projected to pick higher than that.

And we don't have a second round pick.

There is a very good chance we don't even get a draft pick this year.

The good news is, right now, it looks like a very, very weak draft.

and we have 2 additional picks in the following 3 years to add to ours.

And we have free agent cash to spend.

gonna be fun watching Cho handle this.

Didn't think about that. The draft does look weak, but I would love to get a young center that could grow with the team. If Biyombo progressed offensively, and we could get a young big...I think we would be set for a nice run.

We might still get one pick, remember we traded Gerald Wallace for two first round draft picks. We used one of them on in 2010, I think we'll get the second one this year.

I wouldn't mind losing our draft pick to Chicago this year, as long as we get Portland's. Then we would pretty much be off the hook on draft picks (I think we owe a second rounder to SAS).

Hopefully next year Detroit gets out of the basement so we can get their draft pick, that way we will have two next year.

We get Portland's pick if they draft higher than 12th...not looking likely, and frankly, I'd rather
get it in the next 2 years, when it might be worth more.

Why in gods name would you want that. Sounds like a recipe for NBA purgatory- good enough to compete for the playoffs, not good enough to do anything in them, unable to improve with mid round draft picks and an inability to attract top free agents. Don't let the nice start fool you. While this team is drastically improved, there is still a long way to go, and we need to build through high draft picks.

I wish we could get Noel to be our C. Idk..I guess I just like his eraser top hair do..lol
Really though..imagine Biz developing the rest of this season and off season..and becoming a force at PF..then having a force at C..
l get picked too early for us to grab him though. I imagine top 3 or so...

You guys really believe this squad is set long term?

This team needs another high draft pick to get back in the flow of things.

wouldn't bother me. honestly this draft class blows, better off giving up that pick now so we don't have to in the stacked 2014 draft. we have cap space to significantly improve with if thats the direction they wanna go as well. and wouldnt be surprised to see Henderson or Sessions on the move for a pick or two at the deadline

You guys do know we are developing Biyombo to be a Center right? Think of him as hopefully becoming something like Ben Wallace, An absolute beast on defense. He played very well last year against Dwight and a few others. Also, I don't think I have ever seen him in a game some far play the 4.

To expand upon what others have said, Portland's pick that they owe to us is top 12 protected, not lottery protected.
