What's the reason Cam is not a captain on this team?

also the 49ers run a west coast offense and it's only natural that their quarterbacks are going to have high completion % and low INT %.

we run a stupid ass coryell variant that lives and dies (mostly dies) on the deep pass which we don't have the horses on the offensive line to run. chud's decline is mike martz esque and should be pretty apparent by now. of course kaepernick and smith have played well but that's just another dimension where a direct 1:1 comparison with newton isn't all there.

one man stands above them all. he has the lowest college INT % of anybody mentioned in this thread.

the future hall of famer.

the guy you will see hoisting more than one lombardi trophy

the man who will be synonymous with "NFL quarterback" for all time

...drumroll please...

The Golden Calf of Bristol at 1.6%

that's one point six zero. nearly a full two percentage points better than sam bradford, widely considered one of the most accurate college passers of all time.

give that man a yellow coat and a bust.

Jesus Christ are you actually comparing the 49ers squad/staff to that of the Panthers? Are you high?

Note to PFFL - these same geniuses were the ones who laughed when Alex Smith spoke about winning games and not running up a bunch of meaningless stats ala Cam Newton.

And welcome back.

also matt leinart had a 1.8% career INT efficiency

troy smith 1.9%

blaine gabbert 1.92%

sam bradford a ridiculous 1.79%

peyton manning's INT % in college was a 2.38, a hair better than cam

the greatest backup in the league and future hall of famer that the panthers let get away matt moore put up a 3.5% at oregon state, just for kicks

this is what happens when you lean on one stop bellwether stats that "tell you everything you need to know". also in your case picking a conclusion and then working backwards from it.

Some translate to the NFL some don't. That's nothing new. And I never said that's the only thing. I just stated Colin was more efficient even in college as well.

Btw, are you seriously going to compare Manning's college int% playing in the 90's to today's new age quarterbacks? That's pretty funny.

All that's missing there is Teeray to bring up Terry Bradshaw's 5.4% from the 70's and 80s?

Please stop discounting turnovers % just because your loverboy sucks at it. You don't have to know a whole lot about football to know that's still one of the top 3 most important stats that directly affects winning and losing.

We know you would rather have a white quarterback Tom Cat. You can stop repeating yourself already.

this little exercise was based more on your extreme reliance on bellwether stats than anything else. last year it was YPP, this year it's INT %. you abandoned the former when the numbers didn't wash anymore and have clearly moved on to something else.

manning was one example amongst many, many others which are well within the common era. why is it that people accuse you of cherry picking again?

All that's missing there is Teeray to bring up Terry Bradshaw's 5.4% from the 70's and 80s?

oh yeah, that's what people mean by cherry picking.

i say that because teeray spent a lot of time systematically dismantling all of your arguments last year when you were posting a lot (he looks to have continued doing so from what i've seen) and here you are bitching about him bringing up terry bradshaw.

Please stop discounting turnovers % just because your loverboy sucks at it. You don't have to know a whole lot about football to know that's still one of the top 3 most important stats that directly affects winning and losing.

pointing out the gaping holes in whatever inane mindfug that you're trying to pass off as a cogent logical argument is hardly "discounting turnovers %".

of course turnover percentage is an important stat genius. that's an unbelievably mundane statement-like john madden back when he was on monday night football obvious. it's just not uniformly consistent and isn't a one-size fits all stat as my posts on the previous page showed. there are some damn good NFL quarterbacks, many of whom have rings, that put up INT percentages in college that fly in the face of the argument you were trying to make about kaepernick and smith.

there are a lot of good or even great quarterbacks now that turned the ball over a shitload when they were young starters in this league. of course people always bring up peyton manning but his more-decorated brother is a great example as is drew brees and, oddly as safe to say as it is now, alex smith. brees threw 29 TDs to 31 INTs over his first three seasons. Manning was an even 44 INTs to 44 TDs when year three wrapped.

also nice heteronormative insult. looks like namecalling to me which is highly frowned upon. mods, can we get some bans in here?

quarterbacks don't win games by themselves.

even if they did alex smith only reached .500 as a starter last season.

PFFL has been known to make sock puppet accounts for the sole purpose of agreeing with himself.

one of the mods can sort it out.

I'm sorry does the entire NFL run a west coast offense? Fine, forget comparing his int % to Alex Smith. He's clearly in a different league.

Compare him to the entire NFL average. He's at the bottom. Same for td/to ratio.

Not sure, he just joined in October. Grits alone has like a dozen alts so who knows.

Dude, first of all the common era is the Roger Goodell era. This is where offenses began having the most significant advantage over defesnses. It wasn't nowhere near this even in the early 2000's.

And it doesn't matter which stats you look at. It's all the same result. Which ones do you like? Pick one.

There are only 4 quarterbacks worse in int%

There are only 4 quarterbacks worse in td%.

There are only 4 quarterbacks worse in completion %.

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2012/passing.htm

There are only 2 QB's that are worse than him in both int% and td%: Matt Cassel and Ryan Tannenhill

There are 0 quarterbacks that are that bad across all 3.

All meaningless? How about these?

NFL Passer rating? Bottom.

Total QB rating? Bottom.

Release time? Bottom

4th quarter comebacks? Last.

I mean....which ones do you believe are meaningful?

PS: I can see nothing's changed around here. Can't actually argue the argument, so you attack the person. It's all you know and it's all you have ever known.

Same lame ass bullying tactic. That's all you are capable of. Same game of 4-5 butt boys ganging up on anyone with a different opinion.
