ACC is dreadful

24 posts in this topic

Always felt like a weird season to me. All the top SEC teams seemed about equal, the best 2 teams in the Big 10 arent eligible for a bowl game, and top big 12 teams were K St and a crappy Oklahoma team.

Plus the big 10 made a move for maybe the worst football team in the ACC. Maryland was god awful this year- they beat William & Mary (a team who won 2 games all season playing FCS teams) 7- 6 earlier this year

UNC 1st place in the Coastal WHAT WHAT.

WOOOOO!!!!

...but in the end, it's like taking a hot girl to the dance and having someone else dance with her. Maybe next year.

I don't see how you would have jumped Florida to get that BCS bid.

im saying losing to LSU burned us. much like losing to Ark the previous year. Had that loss not gone against us for our division, then we are in a 3 way tie with UGA and Fl.

I just don't like the bowl system by and large. Take UGA for example. They are at #3 and if they win they can play for the NC.

But lose, and they drop down to possibly the Cap 1 where FL loses to UGA, doesn't even make the SEC champ and will proly play in the Sugar.

Doesn't make sense.

Georgia has the easiest schedule of any team in the SEC. They deserve what they get.

I see your point though.

Florida's resume is so strong (the strongest in the nation) that they deserve to be in BCS Bowl over UGA, especially if they lose next week. UGA basically beat UF because UF shot themselves in the foot. But then again, UGA is one of the hotter teams right now.

As far as the three way tie, it would probably end up the same result as UGA would be in the SECG.

i don't dispute FL record or schedule toughness, but think about this. reverse the game with UGA and it's Fl playing in the SEC champ. the same thing would happen to them. they lose that game and fall to the Cap 1 bowl or something similar where UGA just takes it easy over the holidays and plays in the Sugar.

its a goofy system.

That's not true.

If you reverse the game UGA wouldn't be in the Sugar. They'd have 2 losses and wouldn't be in the top 4 which guarantees them the Sugar. Sugar would invite the1 loss UF.

thats right. UF just 1 loss not 2.

just hate as a gamecock fan, we beat a team they could easily play for the NC, lose to an awesome 1 loss UF team and lose to a solid LSU team and because no playoff. the best we get is Outback or Cap 1.

in years like this, you want a playoff because i like our chances against anybody outside the SEC.

I feel ya. Last year I actually liked your team better. You were hurt last year (like we were this year) because UGA's schedule's was weak. Good thing is their schedule next year should really test them.

Many people will welcome the playoffs, and it seems like you are one of them.

I feel like I am one of the few that's going to miss the BCS.

if Shaw doesn't throw that late pick at LSU, man, we could be playing Bama for the chance at the whole thing. ugggh.

    • Same people defending Hillary a few months ago are now drawing the conclusion that Flynn... and by association Trump... must be guilty of something because Flynn is getting immunity from the FBI. Works both ways. For the record... IMHO both Hillary and Trump are crooks.  If justice in this nation were truly blind these two politicians and their henchmen would be doing a long stretch in prison by now.
    • Slot receivers don't exist in 2 TE sets unless we're lining a TE on the outside which I haven't seen much out of the currently constructed Panthers. Maybe McCaffrey if he were to be split out wide but the Panthers usually keep a RB with Cam in-case Cam needs the extra protection and audibles the RB to block.  The Panthers would be best suited pairing KB with a speedster such as Charles Johnson, who's adept at running deep routes. Keep Howard and possible the RB (if not blocking) on short routes, KB on working the intermediate routes, Olsen running intermediate/deep routes, and Johnson running deep routes. That way Cam has a receiver on every level. All of this assumes Shula constructs a properly worked passing attack.
    • Yes, that is correct. My point being Clinton was impeached and stayed in office. Almost everyone calling for impeachment of Trump thinks it means to remove him from office. He would have to be impeached and then found guilty to do that. The impeachment alone does not remove him. And my original point, no one was bringing up the electoral college back then. It makes no sense. Because the popular would surely rid us of corrupt politicians, right?
