i wasn't a fan of the idea then and i'm not now.people were flipping tables on this board in early 2011 when he was being interviewed and was allegedly on the short list

I'd much rather have a guy that's been a head coach at some level. Whether that be Shaw (who probably won't leave Stanford), Arians (who I'd love), Will Muschamp, Wade Phillips, Kevin Sumlin, etc.

Fewell knows defense. That's for certain. But then so does Rivera. That said, don't assume all defensive coordinators are the same guy.
For my part, he's not my first choice, but I wouldn't scream about it if he got the job.
