No way you waste a top 15 pick on an OG. OT is a different story. You can get by with mediocre OG play. That's how guy like Jeremy Bridges last so long.

Chance warmack from Bama will go top ten this year as an OG.

lol Coop is going to go in the top half of the first round. He entered the season #2 at OG and I've seen some places say he has passed Chance Warmack of Bama as the #1 OG.

Jonathan Cooper, G -- North Carolina: Cooper received first round grades from scouts prior to the season and has surpassed expectations on the field this year. He was stamped as the premiere zone-blocking lineman in the nation and Cooper has expanded his game in 2012. The athletic guard improved his power at the point of attack and now displays the ability to beat down defenders on the line of scrimmage as well as annihilating opponents blocking in motion. Cooper will be the second guard selected in April 's draft after Alabama's Chance Warmack. He is unlikely to make it out of the draft's initial 15 choices.

Now, I don't think we use a top 3 pick on an OG. If we can trade down to the middle of the first round, sure, but not a top 3 pick.

got to say i'm not loving the idea of more rookie OL starting. i get tired of watching them on rollerskates their first year and then reading all the whining about how they suck.

can we get some vet OL to come in, please? esp. at OG.

interior Dline and OG...i want vets. get someone who can hit the ground running rather than skating.

Now, I don't think we use a top 3 pick on an OG. If we can trade down to the middle of the first round, sure, but not a top 3 pick.

The 2nd critique is the one I had seen before. He has improved from a zone blocking guy to a more dominant presence apparently. Still, lets get an RG through free agency and improve LT in the draft.

thx - honestly I don't really see the Panthers signing any of those players. Clady, Long, and Albert are going to break the bank.

I could see the Pats letting Vollmer walk but I'd be hesitant to invest $$$ into a guy with back issues. Same with Sam Baker.

But the past couple games we've seen Cam running for his life too much...

Regardless of how you feel about UNC their O-line play has been good and we definitely need depth there. I wouldn't take him in the first and I'd be hesitant to take him early in the second but if we got a mid to late second round pick and he was available I wouldn't be opposed to it.
