maybe he was going to sell it to get money for food

still, dvd players really aren't worth choking someone to death over

Not likely... there are places that offer cheap/free food... not to mention the government programs that help people in that kind of need...

Most likely, he had a drug habit or just really wanted a DVD player... Sure, none of us know for sure...

I'm not justifying his death, but sometimes when you play with fire you get burned...

I'm tired of having pity for criminals that are caught red-handed committing their crimes... Especially so in cases of material theft and violent crimes.

Black friday is a miserable event, my wife forced me to go once and I swore I would never ever do it again. All that chaos to get a deal, nope, not for me....

And Walmart being the big loving corporation they are would not pass that expense to the consumer.

Actually, they wouldn't. Retail is cut throat competition. Raising their prices could cost them a lot more than simply paying out a lawsuit. Walmart does more than 400 billion a year in revenue. A few million is NOTHING to them.

Yeah, having worked at Walmart they teach you not to attempt to apprehend thieves. Even though the dude was attempting to steal a DVD player, his family is now likely to become millionaires.

Which is bullshit.

Go commit a crime and sue when the store dares to stop you.

I feel for the guy. However, if he did not enter that store with the intent to commit a crime, none if this would have happened.

And yet, their benefits package sucked.

I'd like to know more details, really... Like, could it be possible that he lashed out at whomever tried to stop him, and that person felt their actions were justified to defend themselves in the heat of the moment?...
