UPDATE! Rick Reilly is a lying dingleberry clinging to his hatred of Cam Newton

272 posts in this topic

Why? He blatantly lied to intentionally spread a false image of MY quarterback. This fanbase needs to grow a sack. Cam is OUR franchise QB. If he had spread this lie about Eli, Big Ben, Rodgers, etc those fanbases would have eaten him alive.

What if he'd said it about Jay Cutler?

This thread. Rick Reilly isn't the only one saying it. Zod knows his stuff.

i'm just asking for specifics. i don't deny you may have a case, but the extrapolation you made was based on some pretty extraordinary claims (especially to take it to that degree) which requires some pretty extraordinary evidence. i'm only asking for a shred of it.

You are incredibly obtuse.

Bingo. This is the most "star adverse" fanbase Ive ever been a part of. Our fans and organization are learning on the fly how to handle SUPERSTARS. We've still got some growing to do.

It's a process...

lmao! The only times I watch ESPN is for MNF and some college games. I never watch any of the commentary. You watch it, you believe it, you react to it, your own fault.

Cam was a superstar at Auburn. As a pro he has been average at best. He has potential to be a superstar but he is nowhere close yet. Commercials & a Superman pose don't make him a great QB. Delusional homer is delusional.

He rewrote the NFL record book last year.....Cam wasn't average. Team sport, Cam being bananas last year doesn't mean he can overcome the averagness that was around him.

Plenty of reprocussions if the rest of our fanbase did what I did....

call him out on Twitter for the ass clown POS hater he is..... about 100,000 fans tweeting him calling him out would make him & others think twice about spreading lies on Cam.

Wrong. That would just prove that 100K people paid attention to what he said & to ESPN that means 100K people will click on his articles/videos & thus they can charge for ads that 100K people will see.

obtuse?

you made an extraordinary claim with evidence you claim to have but refuse to present. called out on it, you resort to sniping instead of giving actual examples.

Chicago fans would bitch, Green Bay, Minnesota, & Detroit fans would agree, & the pretty much the rest of the NFL would give a collective "meh".

1. It wasn't an extraordinary claim

2. I didn't even make it, others in this thread did

3. I'm not sniping. You really ARE obtuse. I just looked it up in the dictionary and it had your picture.

Chicago fans are rougher on Cutler than Reilly is on Cam.

Most, if not all, of his records will be broke by Luck and/or RG3 this year. The league has changed & thus inflated QB stats. Throwing for 4k yards & 21 td is far from superstar status. Superstars don't throws almost as many INT as TD, which Newton does. He had a phenomenal season; for a rookie. But he isn't even a top 15 QB right now, much less a superstar.
