So I was coming home, from dropping my daughter off at her school, traveling north on Hwy 17, which is a four lane divided highway, when some woman decided to make a left turn, to cross the highway, without looking. I couldn't avoid hitting her and collided pretty much with her rear passenger side tire, spinning her into a street sign and completely smashing in the front of my car.

My car is completely totaled and her car was pretty fuged up. She had her three month old baby girl in the backseat. Luckily both her and her child were ok.

I didn't want to go to in an ambulance from the scene, but I do have some back issues already and my back is already starting to hurt pretty bad. So I'm going to go to the doctor shortly. This is the only accident that I've ever had, involving another vehicle. Is there anything that I need to know, regarding medical care, to make sure that I'm compensated - you know, to avoid problems.

Should have gone in that ambulance. Would have gotten more if you end up getting a settlement

Sorry to hear it man. People drive like retards. How can you make a left turn and not look? poo, I look twice both ways.

Glad no one was hurt serious.

Go straight to the Dr and tell them what happened... get copies of your records and keep them.

Don't take any poo from her insurance company and make them get you a rental car ASAP... like today.

Not an expert, but yeah, don't sign anything from her insurance company.

That woman should have her license revoked and never drive again for the next 10-15 years. Careless driving with babies onboard really should carry a stiff penalty.

Do not sign ANYTHING until you have all of the money from her Ins Co.

Dont cash any check the give you until you have it all. I had an adjuster give me a check "for my car" one time only for the Ins Co to claim that it was the total settlement and since I cashed it that was deemed as me accepting their final settlement.

Just keep checking your mail box. You will have probably 2 dozen letters from attorneys.

I hate 17 and I hate 74/76. All the little turn offs for side streets. Traffic moves anywhere from 55mph to 80mph on those highways and you got people pulling onto the road from a driveway.
