"mu-muh-my right to make a profit. fug you statist scum"

Go to bed Ayn Rand. This is bigger then profits and money.

If the Chiefs want to cancel this game, I have no problem with getting a tie and waiting a week to watch the panthers lose again. In fact I encourage it.

And no ones feeling sorry for Belcher

Like I said, isn't there some rule against personal attacks on this site?

The Chiefs can forfeit if they can't deal with it.

Lawsuit? Do you even know what you are talking about?

It is a possibility.

Money causes people to do fugged up poo all the time. Granted I'm not a lawyer so I don't know if they have a legal leg to stand on, but if a couple thousand people decided to be assholes at once it could create a pretty big mess.

I am and no lawsuit would be filed over this. If it was it would be dismissed quickly as there is no legal basis for any such claims.

If I were commish, I'd move the game to the weekend after the Saints game and move playoffs and super bowl back a week, but that's just me.

Why not just cancel the rest of the season?

very sad story. my prayers go out to both families. i just cannot imagine me thinking my kids are mine, and than finding out they are not. still does not justify pulling the trigger.

And there's more truth to that than meets the eye. Typically that's what they refer to as temporary insanity or crime of passion. It's tragic but I also don't think it's as black and white as simply calling someone a cold hearted criminal because often times it's not because of a cold heart at all, but quite the opposite. It's easy for all of us to stand here with -somewhat- cool heads and pass judgement on the correct actions....the truth is there are situations in life that can bring anyone to breaking points, and until you find yourself in the heat of the moment, and be in those shoes you really can't say how you could react.

Personally I just hope I'm never in such a situation, because despite me thinking I could maintain control and prevail, it's really impossible to say.

You don't know your limits until someone or something has pushed you up against them.

The truth is, this is all speculation. No one really knows what happened.

I had a friend in the Army that this happened to. His wife really twisted the knife when she left with the kid to. That little girl was his everything & she just laughed in his face & told him that she was just with him til the real father graduated college, got him to sign over all rights to "her new daddy" & left.

He was on suicide watch for a while, seemed to be getting better, then when the divorce was getting finalized, our CO & Sgt. told us to keep an eye on him again just in case the wounds were reopened. He seemed fine & then a few weeks after it's official, I walk into the barracks & he's sitting there sobbing. I ask what's wrong & he looks at me & says "I think I won the lottery." Yup. he did. about $30 mil.

He took the high road. His sister sent her a copy of the article announcing him the winner & a $100 bill with "Thank you!" written on it.

The NFL made the right call letting the Chiefs decide what to do.

I'm satisfied with that.

Yes, I know what I'm talking about!

As a Season Ticket holder. You purchase your tickets with a resonable assurance that the game will be played. (Baring an act of God.)

If 9-11 can only temporarily postpone the season, a player committing suicide can't.

All the business's that depend onthe game ot be played, with food, liquor, etc. Would certainly bring a lawsuit for loss revenue.

I'm not being heartless here, I'm being realistic.

"I think they think there's an obligation to the people of this city, the fans of the team and the fans of the other team to play the game," James said.

-From the ESPN article.

That quote best summarizes the point I was trying to make earlier, and why I disagree with you, and the idea that the Chiefs themselves even really had much of a say in it.

Imagine knowing that something you did was as big a part of peoples lives as being an NFL football player. You would feel a tremendous amount of responsibility. Especially being a competitor. That plays into it as well.

There was probably more thought about the canceling of the game on the internet, and by random people who don't have to worry about having to play another NFL game again next week, than the actual NFL or KC Chiefs.

You have to put grieving aside and do your job. Because its a special one.
