Should we expect a different game plan with Stewart out?

A few weeks ago DeAngelo was benched because the coaches wanted to focus on getting the running game going and they felt Stewart was a better fit for the read option than DeAngelo.

Now that Stewart is out this week and potentially more time, do you think Rivera/Chud will utilize more power running formations to complement DeAngelos strengths. IMO if we don't change the game plan we should leave Rivera and Chud in KC. If they keep refusing to change the game plan from week to week we will never succeed.

I think we all want to see more power running formations. Which also means more of Cam under center, and more two TE sets which we used almost better than any team last year (Gronk & Hernandez set the bar)

No. When Williams was "benched" they also quit running the read option for a couple weeks. So they have pretty much said he isn't the best option regardless of what they do.

OL can't open huge holes....Williams can't run without those consistantly.

it should be changed and we should expect it if we had an OC that paid attention to the personnel he actually has on the field from off in his lofty perch away from the field...but that just isn't the case.

i expect what has happened the past couple weeks...plays come in that should be for moments that stewart on the field that actually work to his strengths, only it's williams on the field who is a very different runner and who is successful doing other things.

i just have very little faith in chud to adjust.

would make more sense to have Tolbert as the primary RB.

Rather have 3 yard runs vs watching Williams stopped for 1 yard repeatedly.

I hope that whatever our gameplan is, it gives us a win. I know RR is going for broke to save his job.

I hope you're kidding.

Mike Tolbert has been the epitome of horrible this season.

Dlo strengths are running off tackle and stretch. Would only take a small tweak to change. Also we could use tolbert on power runs, but doubt chud does

Not really.....he just isn't the FB people some reason thought we were getting. Bowling ball RB.....and best reciever of the 3 despite being underused and oddly used.

I hope you are kidding.....when you imply Tolbert fits what we do less than Williams. O requires a RB to run between the tackles and break a tackle.....and then catch/block

We don't utilize our running backs when Stewart is in the lineup, and I expect that to continue without him in the lineup.

FFS i hope so. DeAngelo on all those options spells trouble with his inability to pass block or catch worth a damn.
