Cam's Quarter back rating

28 posts in this topic

Despite all this "sophomore slump" blah blah, cam actually has a higher quarterback rating as of now than he did last year (not qbr) 85.8 > 84.5.

He is also averaging more yards per completion. I think if we can get some more talent on the OL and a WR we will be alright.

Also new coaches.

Cam's not the problem. This idiot fanbase might ask why he isn't the solution if he's not the problem, without realizing that the equation requires fare more than good quarterback play.

I just think it's funny how everyone has been bashing cam for having a down year. I know quarterback rating doesn't say it all, and he has struggled mightily in some games/situations, but overall he is having a very similar year as last year.

At this point last year, his td-int ratio was 13/14 (14-10 now) and EVERYONE was slobbering over him. What changed?

Over the last five games Cam is completing 58% of his passes for 1,232 yards, has 9 TD's to just 2 INT's, and has an average rating of 103. Plus he has ran for 214 yards and 3 TD's. Cam had some struggles earlier, but has been playing very, very good football lately.

Can't knock him because the rest of the team consistently shits the bed.

expectations changed

Last year we were coming off a 2-14 season and we were all talking about how 4 wins would be huge.

This year, most everyone was expecting 8-8 or better (except for a few). Unfotunately, the easiest person to target when expectations aren't being met is the QB (outside of the head coach). Even if he is having a decent year.

unfortunately the most attractive talking point for pundits is "over the last five games cam newton has completed just fifty-eight percent of his passes. that's abysmal. is it the towel? ego? it's safe to say there's a really bad sophomore slump going on here blah blah blah"

    • At first I didn't like the guy but he put his money where his mouth is. Gave a ton to Charity and really backed up his talk of trying to makechange. If he continues on his charitable ways thru out his NFL career I hope he stays in the NFL for years to come.
