Much as I like Kuechly, I'd be extremely skittish of giving a contract extension to any player after just one season.

It's incredible how everything looks so good on paper, isn't it?

Notice how I didn't include the secondary? ;)

I would assume he is suggesting that Keek is vastly outplaying his contract

that is a matter of opinion.

My opinion is, is no rookie contract can be outplayed.
They can be stellar players, still playing on the first contract, but they'll make that money back and more, with their second contract.

If I recall correctly...

No rookie contract that is fully garunteed, can get redone until their fouth year, per the CBA.

Its not really a matter of opinion- there is a well established market price range for pro-bowl caliber LBs, and Kuechly is making quite a bit less than that

cause he's on his rookie contract.

It's funny that the fans that claim players are underpaid on their rookie contracts, are also the same ones to piss and moan about the big contracts the same players sign as their second contracts.

Writer praises Kuechly by saying he's worth more than he's getting paid.

"OMG STUPID NOOB WRITER. DON'T HE KNOW HOW ROOKIE CONTRACTS WORK. STUPID ARTICLLE"

Oh Huddle...
