That might be the base of the trade but we will have to throw in a draft pick.

I love Cousins and think he needs a change of scenery.

Doing this trade would force someone to step up in the PF department. Tyrus is still sidelined but Warrick might have to play a bigger role because he really hasn't made any impact. Also, Biz would see more playing time with Mullens gone.

I think getting Cousins would be a lot more than two average players in Hendo and Mullens. It'll have to be with another young player like Biyombo or a pick or two with it.

I really like Tyreke Evans also. He's a legit shooter who has great size to play both SG/PG. If we could pick up a guy like Evans and work the FA for a big man, we could be in pretty good shape next season.

Cousins for Hendo/Mullins? That wouldn't work on a video game. Trade machine just plays with the money obviously, not the names. To get Cousins, say goodbye to at least a 1st round pick in addition to a package of players.

You guys do know that you can't put draft picks in that trade machine. I think what the OP was doing was making sure the salaries matched. Maybe he had the intent of throwing draft picks in there but didn't state that.

As far as Evans...I like Evans to an extent.

He's more of a scorer that drives to the basket than a shooter. But what I really don't like about him is he lacks a true position. He has no identity. He's needs the ball in his hands to be truly effective but doesn't really posses PG skills. He doesn't shoot the ball well enough to play SG. And he might have the size to play SF but rarely will you see him ask for the ball in the the paint. He needs to ball in his hands out on the perimeter. Not saying he isn't a good player but just confused on where he'd fit.

I will say, I am not too sure I'd consider a trade for Cousins if it included Biyombo. I actually think both would work well together. Both are considered "centers" but Cousins is a very good passer. I have no doubt Cousins would draw attention in the post that would allow Biz to slip for easy baskets. It would really come down to personnel of the opposing team. If they had stretch 4s, I wouldn't feel as comfortable with Biyombo on the court because I don't trust him guarding perimeter-oriented bigs.

True about Evans, but I really think Dunlap can work and develop him. Dunlap has done a nice job with our young guys do far into the season.

Im not taking anything away from SAC's coach and I don't even know who he is but I think that they have done a poor job with their young guys. That's a playoffs caliber group of players they have over there. You can say their the 2nd best young group behind OKC, and they have underperformed. I think it has to do more with the coaches than the players.

I think Evans can find success as a player for Charlotte and Dunlap.

I do not want Evans. Henderson is better than Evans so I'd rather not downgrade.

I will pass on this... I would love to have cousins, but not at the cost of giving up multiple young pieces we have AND draft picks. I don't think we are at a stage where we can give up quality draft picks + players for 1 player. (It will require a quality draft pick or two). We need to stay the course and not look for shortcuts that could set us back...

I think cousins would be a better trade for a team like Houston who's on the edge of being extremely competitive and maybe that one piece can really elevate them.

Former Kings point guard, now assistant coach, Bobby Jackson knows a thing or two about solid backup point guard play.

For most of his 2000-2005 stint with the Kings as a player, Jackson served as second fiddle to Mike Bibby off the bench. The formula worked – Jackson won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award in 2002-03. And never did he and Bibby have to worry about sharing big-time minutes with another point guard.

The Kings have spent 17 games this season trying to figure out the rotation between the current starter Aaron Brooks, and Isaiah Thomas and Jimmer Fredette. The situation has left Jackson wondering if the Kings should trade one of them.

“They all want to play and you don’t have enough minutes for everybody. The good thing is you’ve got three quality guards. Maybe you can, you don’t know what’s going to happen, but you could trade one of the guys, you know, for something valuable,” Jackson told me after Wednesday’s win over the Raptors.

“It’s a tough situation for a coach to have, but we’re doing the best we can,” Jackson continued.

In two of the last three games, Thomas has failed to log a single minute while Fredette has been the main point guard off the bench behind Brooks. Thomas started at point guard through the first eight games of the season and Fredette's minutes have been all over the board. I asked Smart about Thomas and Fredette and he basically said that he is going to have to wing it in terms of their playing time.

“I’ve got two developing, young guards…The game may force me to play this guy because I may need a shooter on the floor, so I’m just going to fight with that as much as I can and stay away from the traditional thinking of you’ve got to have this guy that is your backup,” Smart said. “I’m going to look at how the game plays."

And he doesn’t seem to care if Thomas and Fredette mind.

“I know they won’t like it, but you know what, you’re in the NBA, you know, so many guys would love to be in these positions,” Smart said.

With Tyreke Evans, the Kings have four players who can bring the ball up the floor. This is part of the reason why I wrote a piece the other day questioning whether the Kings needed to even sign Brooks this offseason. Brooks is averaging 7.3 points, 2.3 assists and 1.3 rebounds over the last three games as a starter.

Jackson, who used to be an executive in the Kings’ front office before becoming an assistant coach, seems to think it’s time for Geoff Petrie to pull the trigger.

“They all have trade value,” Jackson said. “Somebody will trade for that, but I don’t know which one we would want to give up.”

So the pieces they are looking to move are young pieces at guard. Given that to be the case this is a non-story for us as we also have enough young guard play.
