Ok, ill say it. 7-9, Rivera should stay, unless...

No matter what Rivera should be fired. He's already proven in my books he's not HC material... at least not for the Panthers.

And to an extent I agree, however is there really any other slam dunk candidates out there. Chip Kelly is high risk/high reward. I would definately fire him for a Gruden or Cowher. But do we really roll the dice on another hot coordinator? Again, im not really a huge fan of Rivera but running the table and going 7-9 atleast warrants re consideration, especially after beating the Falcons.

I can live with Rivera but BOTH coordinators need to go next year. Get someone in who will run a damn pro style offense and McD was just trying to ruin it today

I disagree, 8-8, he would have stayed. The writing is on the wall. The new GM will have to decide what to do, but typically when a new GM comes in, he brings his own Regime.

Also, we went 6-10 last year. We might, with a late season/garbage time surge be 6-10 again.

fug yeah sign me up for more of that.

The only thing he has going for him is that this team is willing to play hard for him.

If JR and the new GM see that as a major positive, I can see him staying one more year to fulfill the rest of his contract. I would expect to see new coordinators come in if that's the case.

P.S Just watching win total is shot-sighted. You have to evaluate the coaching. How they are at developing players, putting them in the right places and giving them confidence to execute. drawing up proper game plans and willing to adjust them in game, having a consistent philosophy on offense, defense and ST, so the team can buy in 100%, making proper in game decision's such as timeouts, 4th downs, FGs, punts... etc

For the most part Rivera and co has failed at most of these points, and that's why I think he will/should be fired not just because we have a bad record.

As I've said before, stick with Rivera and the entire staff....continuity is the key to winning. Sure, the coaching staff, Cam, etc. have all made plenty of mistakes. Keep em for at least 2-3 years....I don't think people realize how hard it to get a competent coach....experience makes competent coaches....we got rid of one.....stick with this guy for 2-3 more years before pulling the trigger...he's learninig and getting better.
