Newton's Sophomore Slump - another look

Doesn't it all kinda boil down to his supporting cast? yeah sure RG3 and Luck have games they won when they had turnovers.
But when Murphy and Tolbert couldn't catch a ball in the beginning of the season... Smitty dropping passes... DWill not getting any yards, JStew getting some yards like every other play...
And then the Defense that couldn't stop a dam thing in the beginning of the season, Combined with Rivera and his "play it safe" approach while leading by only a score...
We all know about Chud's play calling.
Not saying Cam didn't have bad games, not say'n he's the best thing since Boobies... I'm just say'n it's team game.
The only Issue that I personally see is Cam's attitude. And that seems to be changing, Seems to be more positive (at least in the media room and on the sidelines).
We will have to wait and see... but, I'm not really worried about Cam. Just hope he stays as he is now, in to next season, attitude wise.

This whole Cam is in a slump ish is as exaggerated as the whole Cam is inaccurate BS. Every gun-slinging QB over throws their receivers every now and then during a game. I see it all the damn time. Don't get why Cam has to make every damn throw perfect or he's inaccurate.
The desire to take every thing Cam does and turn it into some sort of scrutinty says to me some seriously fear this kid and want him to fail. The question is WHY?
Newton has a 58.2 accuracy which is one of the lower in the league. Even when you take away hit throws batted passes and drops (as Pff does with all the Qbs) he still ranked near the bottom. Certainley there are other factors and I'm sure well see improvement.
But he is pretty inaccurate at this point in time. There is nothing wrong with saying that.

TDs - Carolina - 9th
QB rating - Carolina -7th
Turnovers - Carolina - 11th - least
Net yards - Carolina - 8th
just imagine what this "slumping" QB would have in the win column with a little more help from RBs on the ground and consistant average OL play.

offensive scheme also determines what a good comp % is......it isn't universal thing across the board. Comp % should be higher for some QBs vs. others.
what the QB position has given teams in 2012 (this is collective, so it would combine RGIII and his backup for example)
TDs - Carolina - 9th
QB rating - Carolina -7th
Turnovers - Carolina - 11th least
Net yards - Carolina - 8th

Yep, Luck has 6 wins with at least one INT and a couple with multiple. Cam must play flawless to escape with a win and those wins usually require big numbers from him.
U made a great point. Some on here act like it's not obvious that they get their talkng points from the idiots on ESPN and their sister station, NFLN, or the low level fruit pickers who desperately want attention.
It's like every dumb ish they use to blame Cam for the team loses makes it easier for them to believe that Panthers failure to win more games have everything to do with Cam not being a perfect QB. Funny how that mindset doesn't apply to their chosen QBs. The failure to win is never their fault alone if at all, but they get credited for every team win.
Luck is like one Int away from Cam's rookie s season but u don't hear a damn thing about it. Nope, he's the media chosen QB. They will only praise him and ignore everything else because they cannot be wrong.

No disagreement there. Certainley the fact that we feature deeper passing contributes more then say a west coast. However a 58 percent is still low regardless of scheme. Newton has attempted 53 pass plays over 20 yards. Even if you take that away, it's still low.
The fact that its not as important in this offence, does not make my statement any less true.
As for your rankings, I don't know why you posted that, it's not relevant to my point on Newton accuracy. I'm certainley not arguing that Newton hasn't been successfull this year.

How accurate is Luck Staffiord and Bradford without their sensational go to receivers? I guess if the so called pros in the media harp endlessly about. Cam and his so called inaccuracies, it's okay spend hours harping on them as if he is expected to throw a few bad ones.
I guess QBs like Cam have to be five times better than than the chosen QBs in order to be seen as worthy. How sad.

And when he does NOT accomplish perfection, he's the reason we lost, he's not a winner, he's not "clutch", yadda yadda yadda...

Both John Elway and Dan Marino had CAREER completion %'s of 58% or less.

it is relevant to the point our QB produces more yards, more TDs, and less turnovers than the majority of teams in the NFL have gotten from the QB position.....meaning his lack of accuracy at times isn't as big of an issues as it may seem on face value.
He is young. If he was more accurate at this stage in top of what he does....he legitimately would then be a top 5 QB out of the gate.....which is unrealstic.

I'm not arguing about media hypocrisy. I'm arguing about wether the statement Newton is inaccurate is true. And signs point to yes. Wether or not the media is unfair has nothing to do with my argument.
