I think a lot of the hate comes from SEC fans pissed that Cam didn't go to their school and he subsequently won the National Championsip at Auburn basically by himself.

I'm pretty sure it was for going to the ground, but I think it only applies to the person that actually scored the TD, not a passer.

You can kneel to the ground as if to pray. But he did in fact use the football as a prop so that's why the flagged him.

Keep playing this way Cam, and the media will eventually catch on. Not that it matters, though.

Keep the hating from outside sources. I love it. Because he's going to keep silencing people till they have nothing to say.

What I DON'T want is our fan base going full retard like the media. Let's stand behind this guy and let the outsiders fire the hate, NOT us. It'll only make it so much sweeter when he's hoisting that Lombardi in the future.

Nope, it was for using the ball as a prop. I'm pretty sure that I remember that as well.

Nope, I just rewatched that part of that game to confirm. The official said, and I quote: "Unsportsmanlike conduct, number 1, going to the ground to celebrate. The result of the play is a touchdown....etc."

I thought it was for using the ball as a prop, but I could be wrong.

amended its rules to include an automatic 15 yard penalty against any player who leaves his feet or uses a prop, like a towel, or more specifically the football. The penalty is called as "excessive celebration", and the yardage is charged against the offending player's team when that team kicks off to the opposing team.

This is how I feel, unfortunately this market is not known for "loyalty" and "toughness" and staying the course when it rains. Long as the weather's fair we have his back, but throw a pick or have a bad game and our fanbase sounds just like the "outsiders".

Lately it seems that Cam starts the game really strong, goes into a little rut, then picks it back up again. Seems like every game he'll start 8/10, then go 2/8, then finish 9/12 to be around 60% for the game. I don't know if its Chud over thinking the play calling, Cam not recognizing the defensive adjustments, or Cam getting amped up and sailing balls high. Maybe a combination.

I personally think that at this stage of his career, the game hasn't completely slowed down for Cam yet, so he gets into mini-funks during the game where he isn't planting his feet correctly or reading the D correctly. The good thing is he seems to adjust after a couple of series. He only played one year of real college ball, and is only in year two of the pros, but I feel like he just now might be starting to turn the corner. Guys like Rodgers got to sit behind Favre for three years before getting thrown in, and Eli didnt get it down til year four or five.

So Cam had a lights out rookie year and everyone expected that to be the bar set. He's gonna be just fine, and the past 4-5 games has been his best stretch as a pro by far. He is progressing exactly as anyone should/could hope that he would.

In some ways, the success he had his rookie year was not a good thing. It set the bar ridiculously high and people forgot that Cam was still a little raw when he was drafted.

I still believe it will take a couple years of hard work for Cam to show his true and full ability on the field.

You see flashes of it now. But watch out when he truly puts it all together.

I hadn't heard about the "leaving the feet" part. Where'd you get that? Jimmy Graham's dunks and the Lambeau leaps don't get penalties.

The penalty in question was unsportsmanlike conduct - going to the ground.

I honsetly believe the rule is open for interpratation by the Ref's. The one thing they have said is dunking is ok or spiking the ball. But using the ball as a prop or laying on the ground, taking a knee. I know you are not allowed to do any celibration in the endzone with the football other than spike or dunk. Anything requring leaving your feet is either considered an unsportsman like conduct or delay of game penatly. Has to do with the time frame of the game being extended for celibrating a TD according to what the reports were back when they passed this rule about 4-5 years ago.
