I am probably the only person here that has actually, in person, seen the First Dog and his handler in person.

He's a Secret Service agent, probably a junior one, which makes him a low guy on the totem pole of the most professional, highly trained and hard to get a job with details in the world.

Government's shouldn't be immune to recessions. I think Obama's expansion of government has hired 100+ new federal employees a day along with better compensation during his entire tenure is assinine.

pubic sector has lost jobs. the federal government couldn't subsidize the states as much as they could before (because surprise neoconfederates, the states can't get their poo together), and the public sector was hit particularly hard by the recession as a result.

You can read his entire house salary info here...

http://www.whitehous...al-records/2012

Looks to me like admin assistants make 42k

Mid level folks make 70-90k

High stakes folks make over 100k

Sounds like public sector salaries to me.

Public sector pays themselves with profits they earned. gov officials take those profits to pay themselves the same. But lets agree that if a pres wants a dog he should pay for it himself. if one pres spent too much, how bout they all spent too much. i normally lean conservative with my beliefs but i will go to the grave believing dems and reps work together to fool all of us. The point being they all spend too much on crap, together while pitting us against each other to justify thier disgraceful job performances!

Where is madhatter when someone's salary needs defending?!???

I see you STILL have absolutely nothing to add to yet another conversation.

Those stats show one truth.....we have a SPENDING problem, and NOT a revenue problem.

Deep cuts across ALL areas are needed. That includes both Military and Entitlement Programs.

And Panthro....I swear you are one if the most ignorant fugers I have ever met. And I grew up in Pumpkin Center,NC....so for you to hold that honor, it is really saying something..

I'm a libtard (supposedly) and I approve everything in the first three sentences.

    • I was a Marine Brat at Camp Lejeune NC and graduated from CLHS in 1978 and on 28 June 1978 I joined the Navy.  I retired On June 30th 2003 after 25 yrs of Naval Service and have been serving overseas to support our troops ever since. I was in Tikrit when they captured Saddam.  Soldiers from our base were the ones who actually found him.  I have been in places in Iraq called Mosul, Al Asad, and Al Kut,  I have been in Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan.  The living hell hole called FOB Shank were incoming was a daily encounter. You see young soldiers who don't even shave yet.  Some look like they lied to get in.  Men and women from every walk of life.  Putting that uniform on.  So needless to say, I am very attached and proud of every one of them.  Whether they know me or not.  Tears fill my eyes every time we lose one. (Just lost one last week). This video, I saw when it was originally aired, still make me water up.   I challenge anybody to show me a more military dedicated team, in ANY LEAGUE, ANY SPORT, that supports the troops like the Carolina Panthers.  I'll give my hated Yankees a close 2nd. ($10,00 ticket with a military ID) **at old Yankee Stadium. Carolina is a class act, plain and simple. Thanks for posting this again,
