haven't we been talking about how poorly our coaching staff(s) have used our roster for the last few years? We have matched up talentwise with playoff teams, just not with preparation.

Speaking of preparation...I half way agree with the idea that a coach makes his money on game day. Being a good field commander is an important role for the coaching staff, and often the coordinators can take this role. You don't win championships on gameday, you win them during your preparation the week before. A coach like Belichek isn't the best coach in the league because of making split second decisions that win games down the stretch. He's the best coach in the league because he gets him team ready to play and is able to expose his opponents' weaknesses by preparing before the game. As Bobby Knight said, "Most people have the will to win, few have the will to prepare to win."

Seems kind of fuged up to say what a good situation a new coach would be coming into when it was Rivera who built much of the situation. Most of the great young players are ones he had a hand in.

Brought it on himself, though.
