Overlooked stat for Cam

You truly are as arrogant and ignorant as you appear in your posts

http://wp.advancednf...rYardsStats.php

Cam Newton 4.3 air yards per completion.

Andy Dalton 3.7 air yards per completion.

You have NO clue what you are talking about do you? You have no clue what air yards, and passing yards are, do you?

Those aren't air yards per completion dumbshit, those are air yards per attempt. I listed the per/completion in my post.

No one's proving themselves dumb but yourself.

I know you struggle at math and statistics, but surely you're not this stupid?

No poo! Which completely ignores completion %! That's why its done per attempt!

No genius, the point was to prove where the passes thrown are located to prove that the route design and system is different. To further show that Dalton throws shorter throws than Cam does, by design, which is what everone was arguing.

God you're fuging dense.

Just a reminder of who you are arguing with when you reply to PFFL's posts, this is what he wrote in 2010 before the 49ers game, the only game that Matt Moore won as a starter that year.

One word: Underdog.

Maybe it's just me but one thing that always gets me emotional when it comes to sports, to athletes and certainly to the Panthers is when they accomplish a little more than just a win.

Not that I have anything against great teams or players. My second favorite team is the Patriots, which are always reliable and consistent winners, but it always meant something more to me when a team or a guy that nobody notices or gives a chance to, accomplishes the impossible or the unimaginable. And even the Patriots's QB is led by one of those guys that proved even though he didn't have the name, the pedigree, or the fame, turned out to be one of the greats that every year is mentioned in sentences with some of the greats.

To me the Panthers have always been that team. We have always flew under the radar. We never had the media coverage other great teams get. Our best wide receiver, Steve Smith, was a problem-athelete and considered too small by many to ever make a difference on the NFL level. 10 years into his career and that's certainly not the case. He proved his doubters wrong. Our first true franchise QB, love him or hate him, was also a nobody, played in NFL Europe, and came in as a back-up, but out of all the QB this team has been through, he managed to be the first true franchise QB, and the only one to ever take us to a Superbowl. And on that day, he played toe-to-toe and throw-for-throw with Tom Brady.

And now here we are. The nobodys once again, being lead by another nobody. Mot of the fans don't even want him starting. And even more believe he won't even be here next year. He was passed over by an unproven rookie with a name this year, and has been passed over many, many times before in the past. Despite the fact that he won more games than lost as a starter on this team, he gets very little credit and is doubted by most.

Most around here already have labeled me as a Moore lover. Do I love him? No, I wouldn't go that far. But I do like him and I love the idea of him being another diamond in the rough. And I really hope this guy comes out there and proves his doubters wrong. So do I support him with all my heart? You're GOD DAMN RIGHT I DO! Matt Moore fits this team and this team's history like a glove and because of that, this Sunday my heart's going to be 100% behind this guy and behind this team.

I'm excited! And if you are not, go screw a sheep!

PS: One more thing. We are going to win on Sunday!

Are you seriously trying to use yards per completion to prove who is better at throwing more deep balls?

You would be laughed at on other forums.

FYI, you know you are a fuging homer when your math and argument makes Cam "better" than Brady, Manning, Brees and Rodgers at throwing deep! All of those guys have less yards per completion than Cam.

Air yards per completion shows where the throws are being thrown as an average of all completed balls. This proves that Cam is being asked to throw further down field as it related to scheme, which shoots your argument, in that word explosion you called a post a page back, all to hell.

But really that's irrelevant as you didn't have any idea what you were talking about earlier as you kept saying Air Yards and Air yards/completion when it was clearly attempts, then when called on your bullshit you act all stupid. Typical PFFL.

Run along now Richard, Target is losing money while you type away on the huddle.

Uh no he was using it to show who throws MORE deep balls since you think they run the same system

The argument was never who was better at throwing it deep, but who was asked to do it more. Dalton and Cam run an offense in two different schemes. You tried to argue that this wasn't the case and that Dalton makes all the same throws that Cam does, which is false.

Quit changing your argument.

And yes, Cam IS better at throwing the deep ball that Dalton. Dalton just lofts that poo up like a fuging duck and hopes that AJ can bail him out.

And I'm telling you there is no possible way to figure that out from yards per completion. Any quarterback in a WCO is going to have his yards per completion skewed depending on how many passing attempts they make short. That doesn't mean they actually throw fewer deep balls or are worse at throwing the deep ball. That just showed passing yards through the air, and yards after catch.

There is actually a category that tracks this. If you want it in total yardage, then when it comes to deep balls....

Andy has 12 over 40+ and Cam has 10 this year.

If you want deep ball through the air only, you're going to have to sign up and pay for it on an advanced site. But you can't figure it out from aypc. It says nothing about the number of passes through the air over 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 40, etc....

It's an average. It can add up in a million of different ways and can still come out with the same air yards per completion.
