That was the first Panthers game I went to. Awesome game. The next game I saw live happened to be Jake's first magical comeback against the Jaguars.

Just FYI, I was not dougbting you. My memory is not what it use to be. Thanks for the read. I think I was getting the play mixed up with the INT we had against the Steelers in the end zone around the same time frame as time ran out. I forgot the Safeties name that got the INT but another heart pounding game.

delhomme is somewhat fetishized by this fanbase and all but if you think things are depressing looking back now, consider our franchise history if he never came here or got the start. the 1996/1997 NFC championship game appearance would probably still be the high water mark of panthers history. or maybe fox would have made it work with another journeyman, who knows.

Jake was my first ever favorite player. I may have been pissed at him for a while but as soon as he was released I was instantly sad about it because he gave me so many great memories. A lot of people just hate on him for no good reason at all. At one point he was a top 5 QB in the league.
