Newtown school massacre reignites gun control debate as politicians call for a law 'to get weapons of war off the streets'.

So what? To most Democrats outside of New York City and a few of the larger metropolitan areas, gun reform is still the equivalent of touching the third rail. Any reform will be little more than window dressing at best. It will certainly not prevent Stirs and his friends from stocking up on enough arms to successfully overthrow a small Central American Banana Republic.

Yes, I have recently been told by Stirs that I am insensitive.

Looks like a possible New Year's Resolution!

Now if only the rest of the commie pinko socialist libs in American society would fall in line and realize conspiracy gun nuts have feeling too!

It happens all the time. Hell, you remember that guy who shot up the Oregon Mall? Want to know something that the media refused to cover?

I'm not really sure how the guy stopped the shooter since he said he didn't even fire. Were they implying that the shooter saw the concealed carrier and then killed himself before the other guy could shoot him?

either way i'm not against guys like him carrying weapons since he seems pretty sane and didn't just whip out his gun and start shooting wildly. One major step would be requiring mental health exams along with the current background checks. But still, as I said before anyone can go to a flea market and if you have the money someone will sell you a gun. It's really a deep problem that has no ready solution.

Btw...kudos to my daughters elementary school and the Buncombe County Sheriffs Office for the massive amount of police presence this morning as we walked her into school. Deputies at the bottom entrance to the school, as well as the front door, and even inside the school.

Made my wife and I feel a lot better. I have a feeling there will be a copycat somewhere unfortunately...

Apparently that happened here in New Hanover County as well. My wife, who is an elem school teacher, texted me and said that uniformed sheriff deputies were at their school this morning during drop off time.

It's probably just a PR thing, but I think it's a good idea to calm and reassure everyone.

The Connecticut school massacre gunman Adam Lanza spent hours playing violent video games such as Call Of Duty in a windowless bunker, according to an interview with a plumber who worked at the family home.
