Year 3 will tell a lot about Newton

One LARGE question remains: does he have that killer instinct? As good as hewn lately he's still 11-19 for his career and is yet to lead a game winning drive. Is he a winner? When he gets the ball with 2:43 left and 80 yards to go will we have confidence he's gonna deliver or will we find ourselves saying "here we go again"?
He needs to have us in the playoffs next year. I don't care who the coach, especially if the defense plays well again next year.

We know he has the skills to be one of the best QB in the league. He's a solid passer but not elite due to accuracy issues, however he's probably the best running QB in the NFL which makes up for it.

He led a game-winning drive to beat the Jaguars last year. He's had multiple game-leading drives blown by the defense.

2: Upgrade the DT, FS, and CB spot.
Cam will get us to the Playoffs.

Exactly. He would have had a game winning against Minn last year had Mare not blown the FG...what about Chicago this year?
And why are we even focusing on Newton? Why are we not focusing on getting a better team around the guy?

The only question for Newton is can he develop elite ball location?
He's shown it in spurts. He needs to continue to work on his fundamentals. When his footwork gets sloppy, that's when the ball tends to start sailing.

Get Greg Roman here to work with Cam like how SF utilizes Kaepernick and Cam will get us in the playoffs.
Give Cam Kaepernick's receivers and this thread doesn't exist.

Cam will likely be like most QBs, and continue to have up and downs next year again. Becoming a consistent and elite QB is generally a 5 year process. Until that point he will have peaks and valleys just like he is right now. But eventually he will have seen everything and know what to do against everything he sees. THAT is when he will be truly scary.
We just have to figure out how to win some games during those valleys and we will get to the playoffs.
