Players haven't quit on "Their Coach"

It was never clear whether those statements alluded to coaches or players.

In the immediate context, I remember thinking he was calling out Godfrey and Martin.

Actually I think it was either Godfrey or James Anderson. Next to Josh Norman, JA was the one that choked the most on those last two drives against the Bucs.

Love the excuses that fans come up with for the players supporting their coach.

There are several people not named Newton who need not worry about their jobs.

Add Kuechly and Kalil names then.

Kuechly, Kalil, Davis, Olsen, Johnson, Hardy, Tolbert, Dwan Edwards, likely Brandon LaFell, probably others too.

This isn't Madden. In the real world, you can't just cut everybody.

Showing up in the second half of the season when teams have little to play for does not make me charge to the front of the line yelling for Rivera. Beating the Falcons was great and they all deserve a pat on the back. Philly and SD were already on vacation. Would not pin much on those two or the one coming up this week.

Who said the Eagles has quit on their? The Eagles are just playing bad football right now. They have suffer through a lot of injuries and blown a lot of football assignments.

I think they have. As soon as things get tough they cave.

our players are not known for giving up on their coach. they are high in morale, which is a good attribute to have.

this does not mean Rivera should automatically be granted another year.

My mistake it was not a tweet, appears it was a comment to a reporter on the morning of the firing.

"I didn’t know the GM coached,' Johnson said. "Whenever the GM start coaching and all that? If they’re blaming it on him then I guess he’ll just take the fall for it.

"It is what it is. I just thought it was bad timing."

Seems pretty cut and dry to me. Where does he mention players?

In those comments, he doesn't. Based on more recent comments though I'd say he's changed his tune.

Still haven't seen anything from an offensive player.
