For what it's worth, I heard, from a reliable source, that Ron Green, Jr. is moving on from The Charlotte Observer. Evidently, he's moving to a golf website.

A pity. One of the few talented writers left at The Charlotte Observer.

I guess I disagree with the "talented" comment. i would equate the quality of his writing to some kid in a high school journalism class.

I've always enjoyed Ron's articles but now that the Observer is pay only, I wouldn't be reading much of his writing anymore. Smart man, leaving before the sh*t hits the fan over there.

So Gantt leaves, Green leaves, and the CO starts charging for online content? How much do they think people are willing to pay to read Joe Person columns?

Biggest Tiger Woods nut hugger in the world. He would find a way to insert TW into almost every article he wrote. i think he may have been the last sports writer to realize that the Tiger era was over.

He was a good writer though and it's a loss for the Observer.
