Not going to happen that soon, you can bet your money that the Panthers will want to interview Gamble as well. The last thing the Panthers need to do is jump to a hasty decision regarding who will be their next general manager.
My thoughts exactly.
But, of course, Accorsi has had a couple of months now to really put together who he wants. So, maybe Ross has been his guy all along? If that's the case, then yeah, we'll see a hire immediately.

Why would it be considered "jumping into a hasty situation" by signing a GM early when that someone is the best candidate?

They would need to win next week, and would need Seattle and either Chicago or Minnesota to lose.Still in playoff contention due to Cowboys loss
not sure if a Seattle win changes that, possibly.
