Mr. Scot

If the new GM keeps Ron Rivera...

As long as we get someone that can coach special teams.

Is that to much to ask?

Pretty good chance Bobby April will be looking for work.

Really I don't know, I think if we bring him back it will just be another wasted year and dely the inevitable. And will just be back to square one with an older team.

I will put my strong doubts about Ron to the side and be fully supportive.

Frankly, I would not be a bit surprised if the new GM decides to keep Ron for another year. It would give him a year to get his feet wet and work on the roster and the cap while evaluating the rest of the staff.

If that happens, I just pray that some team thinks Chud is the wizard he thinks he is and takes him off our hands.

Once again, sums up my thoughts exactly.

Would rather be be fired but if he isn't, i'll support him. I think we can do a lot better behind him then we have

...will you accept his judgment or would that automatically be 'strike one' against him?

I'd be disappointed. Rivera hasn't done enough to keep his job imo.

I'd very much like the new GM to pick his own man and give him three years. Good drafts are all about selecting players that fit your system.

The LAST thing we want is the new GM giving Rivera another year (where he is basically on probation) and draft players that fit his system, only to sack him at the end of the year and have to completely reassess the roster for the incoming HC.

It just makes so much more sense to wipe the slate clean. Hire his own guy. Let him live and die by his own hires.

I WILL be disappointed if we don't retain the services of Ken Dorsey however.

This is what it boils down to to me.

There are 3 scenarios, imo, and they rank best to worst.

Best case: New GM comes in with his ideal staff in mind, and cleans house.

Acceptable: New GM comes in, works with Rivera to rebuild the team and staff.

Worst case: New GM comes in, keeps Rivera, Chud, et al.

No way a new GM would keep Rivera unless Richardson mandated it.

That's kinda hard to know without knowing who the GM is.

Plenty of new GMs give existing coaches an audition season.

Rivera has had a two year audition that failed to produce a winning season with a team which should have won a minimum of 10 games this year. If we hire a gm who cant see that, we may as well keep beane in charge of the manure farm.

Who? I only know two GM's who did that. The only reason they did it because those two teams have a winning program with a ton of experience and a solid foundation.
