I think Brandon Beane is going to keep Rivera as HC next year.

Its either Ross or Gettleman. No beane I can assure you.

This is a complex issue. Does the new GM keep Ron because he believes or because Jerry doesn't want to pay someone new? Does the new GM believe in Ron Rivera as our future or does he see him as a short term guy while he builds the roster? Personally, I think Ron Rivera and a very very small % of candidates give us a chance to make the playoffs next year. Long term does Ron have what it takes to succeed? I have serious doubts. His X and Os are brilliant, I agree with him. His talent has been poo and he can keep his team competitive.. But he doesn't run the ship well, he's an engineer, not a Captain. Very Norv Turner like I'm sad to say. So no I would probably not count it as a strike but it would make me wonder what is our plan? Who is in charge? And when will we see results?

As long as we get someone that can coach special teams.
Is that to much to ask?

If Rivera loses this week, then it won't really matter anyway. JR will can him and the staff before hiring GM and when he does hire a GM he will give him the ability to hire his own staff.

However, if Rivera and the Cats win, things could get interesting.

Really I don't know, I think if we bring him back it will just be another wasted year and dely the inevitable. And will just be back to square one with an older team.

I will put my strong doubts about Ron to the side and be fully supportive.

Frankly, I would not be a bit surprised if the new GM decides to keep Ron for another year. It would give him a year to get his feet wet and work on the roster and the cap while evaluating the rest of the staff.

If that happens, I just pray that some team thinks Chud is the wizard he thinks he is and takes him off our hands.

Once again, sums up my thoughts exactly.

Would rather be be fired but if he isn't, i'll support him. I think we can do a lot better behind him then we have

...will you accept his judgment or would that automatically be 'strike one' against him?

I'd be disappointed. Rivera hasn't done enough to keep his job imo.

I'd very much like the new GM to pick his own man and give him three years. Good drafts are all about selecting players that fit your system.

The LAST thing we want is the new GM giving Rivera another year (where he is basically on probation) and draft players that fit his system, only to sack him at the end of the year and have to completely reassess the roster for the incoming HC.

It just makes so much more sense to wipe the slate clean. Hire his own guy. Let him live and die by his own hires.

I WILL be disappointed if we don't retain the services of Ken Dorsey however.
