Cam Newton: Best First Two Seasons Ever

158 posts in this topic

Most of Jake's "clutch" plays involved a prime Steve Smith.

Don't sleep on Ricky Proehl and Moose too. Of course, Jake always did have John Kasay to kick the big one in all of our nailbiter wins...Cam has had the likes of Mare/Medlock/Gano.

This is quite possibly the most overlooked situation on the team. What an absolutely brilliant point! Jake would toss those wounded ducks to the heavens and when Smitty couldnt make a play, the Mighty mighty Kasay would step to the plate and crush it. Mare, Medlock, nor Gano can hold Kasay's jock.

yeah, he has generated more offense than any player in NFL history of the course of his first two seasons....

if the media wasn't out to get him....they generally would be all over this type stuff. But Cam is unique, we don't want him to be loved...he plays better loved by those close to him and hated by the outside world.

If he won games the media would be all over him

Didn't have to be this way. Kasay still wanted to play, our GM was just in constant full retard.

Having a clutch kicker helps win those close games. Think of how many big kicks Matt Prater made for Denver last year in close games (of course, most simpletons give that credit to The Golden Calf of Bristol). Adam Vinatieri is a major reason that both Brady and Peyton Manning have Super Bowl rings.

70 total tds, 23 ints, over 7k yards. I would probably argue Dan Marino over Cam, though I can see where both sides of the argument come from.

Yardage and total touchdowns is an amazing stat.

In terms of clutch you could argue that Cam has been the team that's up in the 4th quarter so his opportunities have been limited. If Cam had won those games he still would have the "clutch" questions.

Now the fumble against the Falcon and the awful pass in the Seahawks game are two instances where he was not clutch.

Fox ball always had the team barley down but so there was opportunity to close out the stinkers for the earlier three quarters.

Now in situations where he needed to make a drive he has yet to close on that signature drive...thanks Mare.

Like Dan Reeves in Denver, he spends three quarter trying to run the ball ineffectively and then when they are down two tds they give it to elway and go no huddle for the bail out win.

Cam needs a coach that will allow us to be down in the 4th plain and simple and

Rivera is always having the lead...get rid of him.

you may consider this a preemptive PFFL strike.

I actually thought this was your shot at TRD. lol

nice but need to get playoffs. now is that a coaching and gm problem.,,,,,we will find. other than that nice. even with all the others i still think cam has the most potential to not only become elite but truly a one of a kind player of his generation.
