Im hoping we lose just to knock 2 birds with 1 stone.

1.We lose Rivera should be fired
2.We get a better draft pick if we lose

Win/Win situation.

i like the way you think, but i always want to beat the saints

IMO, regardless of the outcome Rivera will be the HC until a new GM is hired and evaluates the situation regarding Rivera on his own terms. A win of course would give a new GM more good Rivera work to evaluate. If the panthers win tomorrow they will have gone from 0-4 vs Atl and NOLA last year to 3-1 this year. To play devil's advocate the panthers went from 2-0 vs TB last year to 0-2 vs TB this year. To further my advocacy of the devil, a panthers win would put Rivera at 3-3 in the division vs 2-4 in the division last season. Tl,dr.....I effin hate everything New Orleans...screw riveras future I would like to sweep those offers.

I want to beat the Saints also but what do we accomplish besides pride from a useless win?

Im looking at next year if we lose we get a better draft pick and Rivera will get fired. That sounds like a win to me.

How anybody could have watched the rest of the season and think Riveras fate rests in one meaningless game against the Saints I will never know.

this is a great draft. there's just no golden qb like rg3 or luck. defense in this draft looks stout

saints won't be getting rivera fired. if it happens it's because he wasn't good enough at managing a team and managing games and ended up with two losing seasons in a row.

I'm about as indifferent this weekend as I've ever been. I think Rivera is going to be fired.

But I don't think that it matters that much whether we win or lose this game.

If I'm the new GM, I think I'd want a new HC. I think JR would have a hard time getting a top GM, if he insisted on withholding control over the HC position. You've got to give the GM complete control over personnel. Otherwise, the GM really isn't doing what you're paying him for. I don't think JR will hire a GM who comes in and says...my plan is to keep the current coaching staff in place. It just doesn't make sense.

Rivera is gone. We might also be saying goodbye to deangelo, Beason, gamble, and some others.

That said...what I'd love to see today is a wild west shoot out kinda game. I'd love a score of 41-38. Something like that. I'd say the game is not over even if one team gets out to a 2 TD lead. I think the panthers can win this game if Cam picks up a lot of 3rd down conversions. He has been incredible lately in that dept. Bree's is gonna have his yards, but maybe we can get a pick or two.

We have been playing well. We know we can beat the Saints. They have been very mediocre, but they are at home and Sean Peyton just re- signed. It is a fitting way to end the season and year.

I don't think this game will make a difference in Rivera's job status.

I'm hoping he's fired and common sense would say he is with a new GM coming in and likely wanting his own guy. But, for some reason, I feel like he's going to get another chance and do more of the same.

I think he is let go this week. I think JR finally gets it right and give the GM a clean slate and a opportunity to get his own guy. The truth that matters is we have been bad the last couple of years under Rivera. He didn't turn the intensity up in till Marty was fired. JR said what got Fox fired was because he didn't have back to back winning seasons. I think that is going to get Rivera fired and it will just be better to start over with someone else. It just makes better sense.
