If JR keeps Rivera and makes Beane the GM, he deserves some kind of "Lifetime Troll" award.

You do realize that a yahoo.com article is just about the same as a huddle thread... right?

I really don't think this will happen, I really don't think we are that dumb.

I'll come out and say right now that the Beane/Rivera combo will have us picking top 10 every season, and result in said top 10 picks slowly but surely leaving this team.

From a PR perspective alone, this will not happen. If we retain Beane it is only because we are giving a head coach personnel responsibilities. If we hire Ross or Gettlemen, then that ain't happening. I see no way we keep Beane and Rivera. One goes or both do.

Rivera's job hangs on the new GM. I would imagine the order is
1) Find a new GM
2) New GM decides if he wants to interview Rivera.

Rivera, especially with a win today, has done well enough that we don't know whether the new GM will want to try him for another year.

Yea I just dont buy this. If we keep Rivera and promote Beane then thats a big slap in the face. It would show that Jerry Richardson has gone crazy and just does not care.
