You've just sided with Grits 'R Great saying that Cam sucks because black people can't play QB.

When I was living in Chapel Hill, one of my best friends went to this little breakfast place up off Frankiln St. A typical "Rams Club"-type place. A lot of snooty white folks acting like the place is all theirs and such... He walks in, the waitress hurriedly rushes up to him and says, "You want to come have a seat in the back?" It wasn't a question it was more like a nicely stated demand.

Only black guy in there and coincidentally, he is asked if he would like to sit separate from the rest of the patrons.

That kind of stuff is why I laugh at people convinced everything is "even" now, lol.

My daughter goes to Carolina.

I bet I have eaten in the place you are talking about.

I'm white as you can get, even have freckles.

First time I went to this place I was waiting for a table. Waitress comes up and says, "We have a table in the back".

I guess I should have been offended?

Instead I followed her to the back room which was about 5 times the size of the front room, and guess what, that's where the next available empty table was.

Yeah he ended up delivering Pizzas for a day and making some donations to charity over it.

At that point it's saving face.

The fact that he knew it was wrong and did it anyway despite being a millionaire makes me disagree.

Well, I don't know your background, but I didn't mean to imply just because he was black, there's a lot of discrimination in Chapel Hill based simply on socioeconomic factors/appearance outside of race. He also saw empty tables in the sitting area you walk into IIRC, but she insisted on him going to the back. And my impression was, it wasn't just what she said, it was how she said it to him. It was as though he wasn't supposed to be there. It's a sensitive issue either way.

It's entirely possible that it had nothing to do with him being black, but we saw so many other examples while I lived there and Durham may have even been worse, so that was the context we were working out of.

$$$ is the deciding factor when you notice a thread it's becomes

Harder not to pre-judge.

My two months as a waiter many many years ago taught me one thing: cops are the worst tippers, no matter what race.

Also my biggest tip was from a black lady. Black patrons usually kept me the busiest and sometimes the tips made up for it, but at the expense of other tips.

(example: a table of 8; person asks for a side of ketchup. "sure. Anyone else need anything?" no. I get the ketchup. When I get back, someone else says yeah can I get some ketchup too? "anyone else?" no. I get ketchup. "can I get another straw?" anyone else? No. Get the straw. "can I have a side of honey mustard?" BITCH I GOT OTHER TABLES)
