I always thought he was quite the coach. Too defensive minded perhapse at the expense of his o.

As he is def a higher caliber coach among the available I'm surprised to not see much conjecture on him

He was done as soon as the Bears acquired Jay Cutler. He is a coach killer.

Bears just hired a new GM this season.

Guess he wants his own guy.

More wild news from Chicago.

ESPN's Jeff Dickerson reporting Devin Hester has said he might retire.

Bet the Bears fan boards are exploding right now.

I'm tempted to look in.

Bears missed the playoffs past 4 of 5 years. They have had what, 3 OC's during that time?

Illinois and Alaska are the only 2 states thus far that agree with this firing.

Lovie went to the Super Bowl with Rex Grossman as his QB. He's a fine coach. Bears f'd up.

Lovie is asstackular. He went to the SB wih one of the best defenses in the last 20 years and has been ass otherwise. If you think Lovie is a good coach you should be fine with keeping RR. Although for karma's sake i would find it hilarious if RR stays and hires lovie for dc

Lovie is okay, like a poor mans Fox. He can succeed in the right situation- we are not the right situation. To pull a bad franchise out of the basement you need more than average.

Lovie waited way too long to create an offense, when he got the three skill positions their OL was junk.

Lovie is a very good D coach, but needs to figure out that offense is still needed to win.
