yeah i do,say what you want about their coaching philosophy but they where still able to bring a lot of talent to the team.that class with JaCory and all them northwestern guys was #1 under shannon.

Coker inherited Butch Davis' team and ran them completely to the ground after 2002. Shannon only recruited out of Northwestern. Shut out every high school out there. And who exactly out of that #1 class amounted into anything?

I will say this, Miami is having to play catch up this year because UNC and FSU are dominating the ACC right now in football recruiting.

thats why i started that last post out by saying something about the coaching because it was so much talent in that class.but those guys were not coached up to the level to reach their full potential.

It's a shame too. But Shannon not branching out and being a disciplinarian rather than a coach was his undoing. With all the crap UM has gone through they were still in for the ACCCG. They self imposed the ban. UM should be able to recruit based on name recognition alone.

Golden is also bringing that old school mentality back and allowing past players on campus again. Why Shannon even banned them in the first place is beyond me.

And yes Golden is having to repair the damage done by Shannon and Coker. The shelves were bare when he got there. He's slowly restocking them with Miami level talent.
