think they may want a GM who is STILL in the playoffs?

If they wanted someone in the playoffs, they could ask permission now.

They're limited in when they can actually interview, but with the season over, teams are free to ask permission pretty much whenever.

You can ask for only gm and coaches that have a bye week. Interview has to be that week. Otherwise have to wait till that team is out of playoffs if they dont have a bye week.

Being done by other teams, though. At least three teams have asked about Tom Gamble (49ers). A couple have also asked about Dave Caldwell (Falcons) and Tom Telesco (Colts). One team asked about Matt Russell (Broncos) but was denied, reportedly at Russell's request.
