...regardless, you did rear end her. A lot depends on how long you've been driving, how long you've been with your current insurance company, etc.

So Tuesday afternoon I was hungover was fug after New Years and I went to go get a bite to eat it was rainy outside and at a stop light my car hydroplaned as I was breaking and nudged the back of the car of the person in front of me. The only damage on her car was a tiny scratch that isn't even really noticeable. But apparently now she wants a whole new back bumper because of it. This is the first accident I've ever been at fault for so how much do you think my insurance will go up because of this?
Basically you will now have a "1" in the rating system for at fault accidents. How much your rates go up will depend on your companies rating system which is based on lots of variables. One at fault accident may be offset by your good driving record. Some companies don't raise rates for 1 claim.
Or your rates may go up by 50%. It's so company specific that it is hard to give a number.
