Mike McCoy?

Oh dear lord.

The guy who tried to fix Delhomme's awful mechanics and destroyed him in the process.

Yes, the same Mike McCoy that had Orton and The Golden Calf of Bristol, then led THEM to the playoffs. Oh and they won that playoff game with The Golden Calf of Bristol and his offensive coordinating.

Why don't people do research? McCoy isn't a bad option.

I'd say it's gonna be "die" then.

Like I said elsewhere, Kelly (who was being interviewed by the Browns today) will probably have a head coaching job elsewhere before we even have a new GM.

Though to be honest, I doubt he'd have been a candidate here anyway even if there were an opening, which as of right now, there isn't.

what is JR going to do when the new GM comes in and he and Accorsi both tell JR that McCoy is an outright stupid choice and that he should let go of the past

Someone need to tell Yasinskas the same thing

If Rivera is fired, it'll take Yasinskas about five seconds to declare Mike McCoy the leading candidate for the job, and he'll probably continue to say it even if we line up interviews for five other people and never even give McCoy a call.

What if JR is thinking this;

McCoy + Beane = Fox + Hurney (the early years)

Broncos fans do NOT like Mccoy. Look at their forums, they hope he gets hired away from them. They call him predictable and bland, just like Fox was. Stop living in the past.

Orton- That was more Josh McDaniels then McCoy

The Golden Calf of Bristol- Really? Folks still use him as an excuse for the reason they made the playoffs? First off, their "stellar" offense under McCoy was the lowest scoring offense in the league (or atleast close to the lowest) and the main reason their offense was somewhat successful was because of a strong run game and dump passes. Second, it doesn't hurt to have one of the league's best defense.

Point being is that McCoy is overrated.

Actually Jake had his best years under McCory IIRC... it was McCoy's replacement who tried to fix Jake's awful mechanics and destroyed him.

Having said that... HELL NO to McCoy. If we poo-can Rivera I want to see us hire someone with significant HC experience, so we don't have to deal with another learning curve.

The Denver Defense took them to the playoffs despite the offense. Now that they have an actual OC (Manning) look at them, SB contenders
