Panthers Defense: Panthers owner 'agonizing' over Rivera's fate

Brandon Beane wouldn't technically be employed by "another team".

I think it's clear he means someone outside the organization.

Panthers owner Jerry Richardson is "clearly agonizing" over the decision of whether to retain head coach Ron Rivera.

Richardson and Rivera are meeting on Saturday face-to-face, and Rivera's fate will be determined once Richardson hires a general manager. In 2012, Carolina won its final four games and finished 7-9. If Rivera were kept, he would also figure to retain offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski, giving face-of-the-franchise Cam Newton continuity. It's going to be a very tough call for Richardson. Clearly agonizing while he's been on vacation. Clearly.

No, that's just what you want to infer. It's not "clear" exactly what he means.

"Agonize" is Yas' word:

An interesting tidbit from that link tho:

The Panthers also interviewed at least one candidate, who is not presently employed by another team, before the regular season ended.

Only guy I remember from my initial larger candidate list who isn't currently employed is Will Lewis, formerly part of the Seahawks front office.

Could be the CFL guy some people have speculated about, I suppose.

And I suppose, technically speaking, Ernie Accorsi isn't currently employed in the NFL either.
