He also said on ESPN that bringing back McCoy would be the situation we'd be looking at. Haven't heard that anywhere else.

Just for the record, I think Rivera too will be staying. Whether or not it's a good move remains to be seen.

Clayton may be right, but he's generally not a great source for Panthers info.

Neither is Mort really. Previously his "sources" have said that we'd go after Osi Umeniyora (we didn't) and said that the Panthers would cut Delhomme and draft a QB in round one, in 2006 .

If we were going to fire Rivera then I certainly hope we would have done it by now...

On the other hand JR may be feeling out how the GM candidates respond to the idea of inheriting Rivera before he makes a decision?

If Marc Ross is balking at the idea of inheriting Rivera, then Rivera may be in trouble.
