Neither is Mort really. Previously his "sources" have said that we'd go after Osi Umeniyora (we didn't) and said that the Panthers would cut Delhomme and draft a QB in round one, in 2006 .

On the other hand JR may be feeling out how the GM candidates respond to the idea of inheriting Rivera before he makes a decision?
If Marc Ross is balking at the idea of inheriting Rivera, then Rivera may be in trouble.

Just to provide an alternate point of view from someone who's guessing like we are.

If we were going to fire Rivera then I certainly hope we would have done it by now...

The only guy who actually suggested that Ross definitely wants his own coach is a Giants blogger, so I don't know how much stock I put into that notion.

From my understanding people are saying Ross wants to build up his own coaching staff. So Gettleman might be the leading candidate for the Panthers if they want to keep Rivera.

I'm told Jerry Richardson has yet to decide if Ron Rivera returns. They meet Saturday. Richardson, not the new GM, will make the call

Nobody knows anything.
Exactly. Everyone is blathering about all the other blathering nonsense they've heard from those who are listening to other blathering fools. It's a circus of insanity.

To clarify, bringing back McCoy WITH Rivera or if Rivera is fired?
If Rivera is fired, Clayton said McCoy would be a major player.
