This isn't terrible, a lot can be said about him, but the fact remains, he never lost his players.

Not sure why this whole thing had to move at a snails pace but let's get a damn GM in here now.

LOL people are still trolling the Beane for GM bit, go drink a jug of clorox.

Evan Silva@evansilva

Rooting for Rivera but hard to like any coach's long-term outlook if he's being pushed on a GM. Never seen that work/last. #Mangini#Lovie

Expected this. I'm more concerned about the GM hire. We cannot afford to miss on that hire, but for some reason I think we're going with Beane. As for Rivera, hopefully he's on a short leash. Playoffs next year and back to back winning seasons are a must. If he starts up slow next year, like this year, drop his ass early. This hire probably means Ross is out the question, especially if reports are true he wants to bring in his own staff.

Will Brinson@willbrinson

@evansilva My hunch says if Rivera is staying they go with Beane, promote from within.

Again, I don't want to hear "According to sources..." I want to hear Richardson or Rivera say it before I will believe it. Up to this point, not one single person in the media actually has contributed anything accurate so why should I believe Voth?

This isn't news. "next week" on the GM hire is just hilarious though.

Richardsons plan on the GM hire:

Step 1) Wait.
Step 2) Keep waiting until there are no viable prospects left for the position
Step 3) Hire Beane, have him do exactly as I say
Step 4) Tell fans they can't say anything, there weren't any other candidates available!
Step 5) make more money!! Huzzahh!!

I hope fans sell their PSLs en masse if Beane were to become GM of this team.

If I were to place a wager, I'd bet on Gettleman being the GM.
